I cut the bumpers off

Makes it look and feel a bit smaller (it's a big watch - bigger than most G squares).

I actually do like that it's big so I'm not trying to make it tiny. But I just never liked the look of those bumpers on the left and right sides.

And it allows a bit of extra wrist mobility too.

Here's the "before".

I like it either way but I thought this was a fun way to make it my own.

I cut it with one of those old timey double sided razors. (A utility or exacto blade is too thick and won't cut straight very easily in this situation.)

Considering that a replacement bumper is around 20 bucks I wasn't tooooo worried about trying this. And I'm glad I did. If I get another color of this model I'll definitely do this again.

And honestly no other watch right now interests me anymore. This watch is just so comfy - plus a great screen and features. I'm just not in love with any of the other colors at the moment. Maybe the black or the off white.. 🤔

So you’ve circumcised your watch 😂.

Glad to hear that you have found a piece to be content with. That is the pinnacle 😊 And it's your watch, so you do you 💪

Cut more watches, please.

This is a fantastic idea for a new thread. Let’s play chicken and see who will cut into a JLC or Vacheron Constantine. Whoever does it first gets to run the WC App for life 🤪

I am really impressed by the appearance of this and another g-shock cut I saw on WC several months ago. Of course, we all wonder if this would have an effect on reliability. From a personal perspective, I also wonder whether it would look okay on my 1 oversized black plastic g-shock GAW-100B, and how harmful (or completely safe) it might be to my personal well-being to use my emergency tool knife for such a task. Anyway +1 to for the risky buzzness 😎

Double-edged razor blade? A fellow old-fashioned wet shaver?

No I've had a beard since I was like 1.

I got them for some diy project years ago.

You wouldn't get a clean straight cut with a regular blade in my limited experience. I even found a razor blade that was too thick for it.

As for reliability I think it's fine. Most the hits it gets are on top. Plus I'm not doing any gladiator fights with it at the moment.
