First Post! Would love to hear the community!

Hello everyone!

Really happy to be here! I've been looking for a community for a while and would love to hear your take in this!

So, I've got family and friends all over the world, and am planning to travel quite a lot seeing them all. The GMT function resonates emotionally with me!

BUT! I'm also an active member of the IBWC (Itty bitty wrist club!), clocking in at around 6.25 in......

Bottom line!! LOVE the Tudor but.... Afraid it looks comically large on my wrist.... What's your take!

Do your daily wrist exercises and keep to the recommended wrist diet (it’s all about the Omega 3’s).

It doesn’t look coming comically large. It is really how it feels and looks to you. The only opinion that really matters is yours.

GMTs always have fat bottoms but they are so darn useful. Avoid the wrist exercise thing as it can be taken the wrong way unless it refers to beer. Welcome anyway. Wait! .....no socks?

Have some "no-shows" for those hot summer days! 😂😂😂

And yeah, it's a bit chunky but I don't think that necessarily is a bad thing!

Thanks for the kind words mate! I do want to enjoy it, looking forward to travelling with a "Pepsi" without worrying like crazy.

Nah, dude, looks awesome!  If you dig the look, that's all that matters.  Rock it, man!

It looks fine on your wrist.

Here's a comically large 45mm for you to feel better 😂 The watch looks fine on you!

·

IMO, yeah, it's too big for you.  Not so bad though, and if you like it, that's what matters. What's your wrist size?

·

Psst Tudor just released the Black Bay Pro which has GMT function, looks awesome and measures 39mm in diameter. 🤫 Keep it secret. Keep it safe. 🧙🏼‍♂️

·

I think its at the edge of what your wrist can pull off, but hey, variety is the spice of life! So go for it if you love the piece 👍🏼

·

As another member of the IBWC, i have found that slapping something on a strap instead of a bracelet can do wonders in making it feel and look more proportionate on the wrist 🤝

·

I have a 7inch Wrist (8cm) and i found the Tudor GMT too big and thick. But in thebmirror pictures it looks fine on you :) i guess it also depends innthe shape of your wrist. As long as you are comfy, i say go for it :) otherwise i would check out some Micro Brands (or the new BlackBay Pro??)

·

Size doesn’t matter, lug-to-lug matters! 😉👍

·

I think it looks great, but try on the pro that @sojoerner mentioned. you might like it better :)

·

As you can see from the comments size is subjective and all that matters is how you feel about it pal, I have a similar problem but the other end of the scale I have large wrists and I would love to be able to wear things like CWC or the smaller day date, but they look like my child’s watch on me the long and short of it is wear what makes you happy buddy and don’t worry about what other people think, and welcome to the watchcrunch family great to have you 👍

·

Naw man, rock that watch. It doesn’t look small on your wrist. It looks great! Glad you could join us in watchcrunch. This is a really fun page.

·

Be cool be different be what you are... I even dream of wearing power ranger watch when I was a kid.... Wish I have a watch like that 🤣

·

Welcome 🤗

my take is that I dig your shoes!!
and it doesn’t look too big, and it works great in casual 👌🏻

·

It looks slightly large, but that is pretty much by design, as others have pointed out. The question is really whether you like it.

Welcome to Watchcrunch!

·

smaller wrist, GMT function. Check this one : https://baltic-watches.com/fr/products/aquascaphe-gmt-grey

·

From the images, it looks fine on you. Plus it‘s a Tudor, not an Invicta. So even if it does look a little large, nobody’s making fun of you for it. And if they are, they couldn’t afford one anyway.

I've been sort of obsessing about GMTs lately, and I have the same problem. I have 6.5" wrists, and I've tried on the Tudor. It's a huge chunk of a watch that wears like a slab. I found it unwearable, won't buy it, and I question the people who say you should just "rock it." I really wanted to like the new Longines Zulu Time, but I tried it, and it has the same problems.

Some viable alternatives:

I have the Lorier Hyperion. It wears beautifully and fits my wrist like a glove. But it's currently out of stock. Lorier seems to be a respected microbrand that got a lot of buzz.

The brand new Christopher Ward C65 Aquitaine GMT really caught my attention. I haven't seen it IRL, but I have a C60 Sapphire, which is one of the most comfortable watches I've tried, and the Aquitaine has a very similar "Lightcatcher" case. The Aquitaine is 1mm bigger across than the C60, but the lug to lug is 1mm shorter, so I suspect it will wear quite nicely. And it's only 12.7mm thick, so far less chunky Tudor (and also thinner than the C60), and the Lightcatcher case conforms nicely to the wrist.

These however are "office" GMTs rather than "true" travelers GMTs, that is, you can quick set the GMT hand rather than the hour hand. This makes setting the time when you land slightly more of a chore. I personally don't mind, since I'm mostly at home tracking time zones elsewhere. And they're a good sight cheaper than the Tudor.

The new Tudor Black Bay Pro could be exciting, but I kind of dismissed it because it doesn't have a rotating bezel. I find a rotating a bezel on a GMT really useful. And it's really thick, at least on paper. I should probably give it a chance, if I can find one to try on at a shop.

·

I think it looks fine on you, but I've found that the answer to the question: "Is this watch too big for me?" seems to be largely a matter of personal preference.

I'd take anyone else's opinion about what they think is too big with a grain of salt, and ask yourself first (as well as the important people in your life) and go by that....

And.... welcome to WatchCrunch, it's a great place!

·

NO WAY is it too big.  I like a watch with presence and anything with a bezel/dive style is excused from the constraint of fitting under the sleeve or being 'discrete'.  Where it with pride and don't look back!

·

I think the size is fine on your wrist! look a great balance between too small and too big…

but i tried the BB Pro… which is a great size also for a GMT. pity that no pepsi feeling on it, maybe next ;)

·

If it is comfortable then it fits you perfectly

·

Give it a try higher on the wrist (over the wrist bone) with a more snug fit to keep it there. Might wear a bit better at that point plus with a tighter fit it may bounce around less since the gmt is on the thicker side.

·

Wow, it looks good in your pic. It's really weird because I think it looks the same size wise on your 6.25" wrist as my 7.5" wrist.

·

Wears extremely well! Enjoy the hell out of a great watch! I have watches that are supposedl too big or small for my wrist. If I'm lovin th watch I have on I am all good! Enjoy & great buy

·

I ended up getting a navy black bay 58!

As much as I love the GMT, It just didn't "click" for me, I wanted it to "work" but , the proportions just aren't there for me.... Maybe some day, but for now, the 58 was the perfect "first piece" !
