Trend Report in the Wall Street Journal

In Saturday’s Fashion Magazine section, in the WSJ, there was a “Trend Report” that said the new fashion statement is to wear multiple watches on one wrist like bracelets. I believe this was meant to be a women’s fashion trend only.

The photos that accompanied the reports showed some really nice watches (three Omega DeVilles on one wrist, for example)!

Has anyone seen this “in the wild”?

Here’s a link to the article, but I don’t think it will work, as you have to be a subscriber.

I have not. It looks sort of weird with the round watches. I can sort of get it with oval and tank watches. I still don't like it a lot.

·

Saw the pics, no subscription, never in real life though. I like the watches shown and there is maybe something to it stylewise, especially if you have strong arms, but wearing several analog watches like that seems cumbersome, probably hard to keep all pointing toward your face, and like it might cause scratches. 7/10 but would definitely do it myself for a lark.

This is not a grass roots trend. There might be some astroturfing.

Saw the article, which inspired me to begin wearing my watches thusly...

I enjoyed that article almost as much as the one about Cheetos. Did you see it?

"Eating a pound of Cheetos per day has been shown to lower all cause mortality in humans, dogs, cats, and gerbils," says latest double-blinded, randomized controlled trial conducted by research scientists at Harvard Medical School. A spokesman for study sponsor, Frito-Lay, announced, "We are incredibly proud of the important research that is made possible by our commitment to public health. And today's findings vindicate the many programs, like the '100 Pounds of Cheetos Per American Per Year' initiative to be rolled out in all New York State public schools, that we recently launched with former President Barak Obama. Cheetos, combined with any of the delicious and nutritious PepsiCo soft drinks, provide for a balanced and healthy and life-extending meal."

I don't really see the point but I guess that it's better than a fashion trend of driving multiple cars simultaneously

Kinda reminds of the old advertisements from the 60's where a majority of doctors were endorsing smoking Camel.

Have never seen this in the wild and it would look remarkably goofy, never mind the guaranteed scratches.

·

Looks like WSJ is trying to start a dumb trend. End up scratching all those nice watches.

·

I haven't seen others but I know I do wear two on one wrist or one on each wrist when I can't decide which one to wear🤪
