The magnetic attraction of bronze

There is something about bronze that appeals to me in a way that steel doesn't, and today my hand went to to the gilt bronze Superman all by itself.

The Superman has a very retro late 60's skin-diver thin case style, although it's actually a fully fledged diver with a 300m WR. It's all about the proportion of the case and the flow of the lugs. The locking latch of the 120 clicks unidirectional bezel is now more of a design element rather than the necessity as it was in the past, but it still add a lot of flair IMO.

The original Superman was very toolish looking, and Yema's decision to launch a bronze version of its Superman while gifting it with a sapphire bezel insert and gilt dial created a watch that is both elegant, dressy and unique without losing the basic characteristic of the steel versions. What made it so special to me is both my love for classical retro-style and being able to find the perfect matching MN strap, courtesy of Erika's Originals, with its bronze buckle and the small Tricolor sewn on the outer segment.

I'm also happy that the weather decided to cooperate for once and that I was able to take a leisure coffee break outside without having to time it and rush back in to thaw.
