Kickstarting the day with a Kickstarter Yema

This steel and bronze Yema was bought through one of Yema Kickstarter crowd funding campaigns, so it's numbered and also hold a special place in my collection because, as a kid who grew up in the 60's in France and was surrounded by adults wearing LIP watches, I was invested emotionally in helping with the rebirth of the French mechanical watch industry.

If you thought that the Swiss had it hard when Seiko hit them with the quartz hammer then you have no idea what happened in France - it was a literally a hecatomb.

The French watch industry is still tinny, but with brands like Baltic, Yema, Serica, B&R and LIP, it's not defunct anymore, even if most of the manufacturing is done in other countries. The watch strap industry is however another story because none of the straps I got from Yema were really good. Those that came with the Superman were no exceptions and so it ended fitted with an excellent grey Mirage strap with a yellow strip and a bronze buckle from Erika's Originals.

I like the combination of the steel case with the bronze bezel and crown. The case is brushed and it match the slightly worn look of bezel and crown that show signs of light tarnish where my fingers don't rub regularly.

It's also super easy to take a few decent photos because the overcast sky and matte finish didn't throw too many reflections and it was bright enough to catch the light grey color and the texture of the strap.

It was still a bit too cold for me so after a quick wrist shot I retreated back inside.

Superb photos, and the bronze bezel on a steel watch is awesome.
