Did you ever buy a watch by accident?
I bought my Everest without meaning to. Months after deciding I had enough of Timesfactor and moved on to other things, I tried again for shit and giggles, fully expecting to have my order rejected again. To my surprise it didn't and I ended up two weeks later with a gilt dial Smiths Everest on my wrist.
I'm not complaining (well I do, but it's only because I'm becoming an old fart), however I do wonder how many of us bought watches they didn't mean to, or can't figure out how they ended in their collection, versus those of us who plan every purchase like a corporate takeover.

I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.

I accidentally win an auction every so often. Price of flying close to the sun.
While I've not bought a watch while under the effects of drugs or booze, I HAVE bought a couple watches on just literal sheer impulse.

Not really by accident, but I had a similar experience with the Olko Steinhart GMT which is always sold out. I happened to randomly see a “buy” button on the site on an old browser window I still had open. So I attempted to buy it and the order went through.
Not really by accident either, but I once sent in an insultingly lowball offer on a vintage watch on eBay. I never anticipated they'd take it.
Seller accepted my offer without a word in 30minutes. 😂

That's something I never tried. Maybe because I didn't buy any vintage yet.

My first reaction when I saw your "Tattoo" was thinking that there is no way on earth that you were sober and in full possession of your wits when you bought it.
But then I looked again, and yeah...I get it. It's unusual, but the engraving is also interesting.
Was every purchase intentional? Yes
Were some of them impulsive? Most definately!

I bought a Black Bay Blue by accident. During the lockdown period, I bought it via text with my AD’s sales rep. I picked it up in somewhat restrictive conditions but they did get it sized for me.
It wasn’t until I got it home that I began wondering why it felt so big when it felt so tiny the last time I tried it on. That’s because it was the Black Bay Blue.
I had forgotten the “58” in Black Bay 58 Blue when I sent the text. They sold me exactly what I asked for but what I asked for was not exactly what I wanted. LOL

Oh, that's an expensive mistake. Did you keep it or traded it for the BB58 you wanted originally?

I bought the BB58 blue later and kept them both for a while. I recently traded the big one towards a Bvlgari Octo Solotempo and kept the BB58.
