I have to admit that the profile of the San Martin "absolutely not an Explorer" SN021-G is not bad at all.
The case is thin and decently polished, and the hexagon SM logo is well engraved (and much better than the alternative dollar sign). More interesting is how the flat crystal was beveled to match the bezel angle. IMO it's very nicely done.
Wearing it today on its typical SM thick and heavy bracelet kept me thinking that if we ignore the whole Explorer homage issue then we are left with quite a lot of watch for a fairly approachable price. It's decently finished, the specs are respectable and the dial is esthetically pleasing (for my taste) and very legible.
It's not a bad watch to wear on this bright and sunny day.
I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.
