Obviously it, yours, was a strong influence on the overall design.
Oh, yeah, Marc is open about Islander starting as an unabashed homage brand, even if their more recent releases are more original in design. I am a huge fan of the brand. You get a solidly built watch at a good price, and their customer service is excellent.

Thank you for the recommendationI might have to give it a whirl. I know the abalone is a little more “effeminate” , nonetheless I’ve always liked. the colors of it when it’s polished.

Nah, don’t worry about what others think. The only thing that matters is how you feel wearing it.
I just bought my third Islander. It’s a solid brand and offers great value for money. Also, if there’s any sort of problem with the watch, you can be sure Marc will make it right.
But yes, what @SpecKTator said. If you like it, buy it. A bunch of weirdo chucklefucks* on a watch forum can (and will) give their opinions all day long, but yours is the only one that matters. I feel like it can be easy to forget that (I certainly do sometimes).
Hrm, that link didn't seem to copy. Here's a screenshot
I just joined last week and you are actually the second person that I added to follow because I loved all your choices of watches! I was really admiring your light blue “Islander” that’s Literallywhy I was actually looking at this other one. You have excellent horological taste!
Interesting that the bezel looks exactly the same, down to the dots and font style

Great brand! Marc will stand behind his watches he sells.

I love mine. It's great quality, super comfortable, good looking, gets compliments, runs +/-2
And the myota inside is easy service or replaced if anything does go wrong

I just bought the “Ghost” Bayport and was looking at getting that same style of white rubber strap as an alternate. 👌
Got this strap from Long Island Watch:

Oh nice! I like the option to swap out the keepers, too. That’s a nice touch.
