WotD Mori II / Are you into Brass/Bronze?

I'm all in on the brass today with the Ventus Mori II diver. I've had it for about a year now and love how the brass parts have developed a nice rich patina. If you can't tell, I'm a fan of brass/bronze gear. Side note, the brass handle Higonokami friction folder knife in the photo is neat bit of history. They are hand made in Japan at the Nagao Kanekoma Factory Co., which has been a family-owned business for over a 100 years.

Do you own any brass watches or gear? Post photos below. I'd love to see them.

Doesn't Timex make some brass watches? I think the new Q 1975 reissue is a brass watch. I don't have any, but I was thinking about adding a bronze watch to my collection. Maybe not this year, but if not, then definitely the year after.

@Candide3693 I'm not as familiar with Timex watches but I just looked that one up on their website and it's listed as "Stainless Steel Watch Case". So, it doesn't seem to be actual brass or bronze.

That's one thing to be aware of when looking at cheaper watches (under $200-300), you see a lot of stainless steel "bronze" watches that are just a coating and don't use any true brass or bronze metals in them.

Yes, I found that out when I was looking on AliExpress for a bronze pilot watch. I thought I had found a great deal until I read the description in detail. 😂

@Candide3693 If you go a bit up in price, there is a San Martin pilot watch that has a bronze case. I found it eBay for $189. It's a nice looking watch with an NH35A movement. That's a good value.

Edit: It's on AliExpress for $159. Even better.

Most vintage Timex are brass however, they are plated which causes the brass to be eaten away over time if they plating fails. They are all plated originally.
