Vario 1918 Trench Watch

Anyone else have a Vario 1918 Trench watch? I didn't know about the history behind trench watches before watching a youtube review of this one amazing watch. It's interesting that men rarely wore wrist watches prior to WWI, opting for pocket watches instead. Oh, how times have changed. Anyway, if you have one of these, or a similar style watch, let me see photos of yours!

The enamel dial is beautiful and the company is a pleasure to work with.

I have a thing for WWI trench watches and have been going back and forth on buying one of these. Everyone who has had one or reviewed one seems to love it.

The medic variant is really cool, too.

@foghorn I was really tempted by that grey dial. Man, that's a beautiful watch. Nice pairing with the slate blue bund strap btw.

@UneedaMedicalSupply I've really enjoyed mine. It's such an interesting watch and great conversation piece. I've had several people ask me about it thinking it's vintage. The Miyota 82s5 movement isn't amazing, but it seems to keep decent enough time, so no real complaints there.

Yeah I’m not crazy about the Miyota movement either. At that price point, they could have at least sprung for an NH35. But like you said, that alone isn’t enough of a deterrent to keep me from wanting one.

I have just seen the reviews of these trench watches. Beautiful with lots of interesting history. My only question was that shouldn't they be manual winding rather than automatic? I will be getting one!

Apparently the medic version uses a Seiko movement.
