Still in the Honeymoon Period with My New Islander!

I am really liking my new Islander #ISL-HMBT-1, although I must say it is a heavy watch! I am not sure exactly how much it weighs, but I can definitely feel the difference. It is much heavier than my other Islander diver's watches, even my #ISL-79.

Try a Nato or leather for the weight. Better yet a few different colors to change it up. The Islander watches do punch above their weight. Good purchase.

Yeah, I have one of the blue rubber straps Marc offers for both his diver's and SKXs. I was thinking of trying it on that if I cannot get used to the weight. I am going to wear it a bit more before I change out the bracelet.

Islanders really do offer a lot for your money compared to just about every other brand outside AliExpress, and Marc offers vastly superior quality control and support. The Islander field watches offer the best entry level automatic field watch on the market in my mind. The Islander dress watches with the Miyota 9015 movement are the lowest price for a watch with a 9000 series movement I have been able to find anywhere (I did just hear of a watch coming soon on Kickstarter with a 9015 movement for $339 as the tier 1 early bird price).

My only complaint about this watch is a small one about the bezel. If you look at the numbers, there is a gap after 10 that is much larger and throws the alignment off for 10-40 and the indices in between. It is pretty much corrected by the index at 45. It is not bad, but it is noticeable. Other than that, this is a truly solid watch in terms of quality, value, and finishing.
