SOTC - Current State of My Collection

OK, I have finally gotten my collection into some sort of organized form, so I am ready to post the state of the collection. 😊 Some of you may be curious about what all I have in my collection, given my past statements about its size. Let’s begin.

Image

In this first photo are watches of special significance, as they are all gifts from my wife; Citizen, Bulova, Casio, Vostok, Bering, and Relic.

In these two photos are my Islanders. Obviously, it is my favorite microbrand.

Image

Next come my current Seiko watches, with the exception of my digital models, which are in a different box. I have given many of my Seiko watches to friends and family, and there are still some in my odds and ends at the end.

Image

In this next box are my Orient watches, including my Orient Star, my Sea Gull dress watch, and my Swiss watches; Tissot, Certina, and Hamilton.

Image

In this box are the majority of my Citizen and Bulova watches, along with my Brillier Airborne and Spinnaker/LIW Fleuss.

Image

In this box are my non-digital Timex and Casio watches, along with my Vostok Komandirskie, my Swatch Sistem 51, my Brooklyn Watch Co. Gowanus, and my One Eleven SW1.

Image

In this second watch roll are three microbrands I like, Vaer, Bertucci, and Deep Blue.

Image

In this box is my digital watch collection, including Seiko, Citizen, Timex, Casio, Texas Instruments, Bulova, Sanyo, Armitron, and Nixon.

Image

This watch does not have a spot in a box or roll, because this watch is my nighttime watch; the one I wear to bed. 😊 These are all the watches in my current rotation. I have one more box of watches that are in my collection but not in my current rotation.

Image

This last box contains my odds and ends; watches that no longer work, need batteries, or I no longer really wear. Generally, gifts for friends come from this box while gifts from family members come from watches in rotation. There it is; my watch collection as of now. I do have some AliExpress watches on the way, but they are not here yet.

Nice collection, one of the biggest I've seen highlighted. I need to grab an Islander now that he's doing more unique designs, I'm excited to see what the quartz chronograph will look like.

You might have the largest digital display collection that I have seen, very idiosyncratic, very nice.

Yes, I am excited to see his quartz chronograph Islander as well!

Thanks! The second watch I ever got for Christmas  when I was a kid was a digital watch, so they hold a place in my heart. 😀

It is a matter of whatever strikes my fancy, but I do go through phases where I will wear one brand or one style of watch for a while. I just think Marc offers great value and a variety of designs. I am really liking the new releases where he is even designing new cases.

·

Massive collection with great variaty👍 Good job! I can see why you skipped the 1WC🧐

·

You might look at the Pilot models with the Flieger style dials; they don't have the logo. 😂

·

What an amazing collection!

·

I looked at these when they came out, but this was one design that didn't resonate with me. As (I hope I am remembering correctly) @foghorn is so fond of saying, a chacun son gout! 😀

What an amazing collection!

Thanks!

Great collection and I really love the way you have it organized. I might have to PM you periodically when I’m feeling pressure to downsize my 36 watch collection to tell me it’s okay. 😉

·

Awesome. One day I might get inspired enough to do a full SOTC,though I'm not nearly as organized as  you. Mine are all in display boxes but the thought of organizing them gives me agita.

I see that you're even more of a strap guy than I am. I have a few on bracelets.

Is that a 40mm Deep Blue Defender? I have the same one. The only reasonably sized Deep Blue IMHO.

It did take me awhile to get it all organized. And yes, I really do prefer straps to bracelets in general. The Deep Blue Defender is the 40mm version. At 44mm, I think I would feel like I was wearing a circular saw blade on my wrist, especially considering the Defender bezel. 😂

I think this may be the first time in history that a man hasn't overstated the size of his pride and joy. 😉

Great collection sir.👏

P.S. I'm going to use this post as my defence should anyone say I don't need any more watches (I currently have 23) 😁

An awesome eclectic collection, Sir! Congrats, enjoy and wear them in good health. 😎❤

I think you’re in good company here 😁 cheers!! 🍻 to indulging our obsessions!!

Question!! How do you store your watch boxes? do you place them in drawer or just all laid out on top of a dresser somewhere ? I’m still trying to figure out how to easily look at my collection at a glance without opening any drawers… thought of the no watchbox route per @Omeganut aka GrandSeikoNut…but seems too messy and my kids will be all over it…

I have them stacked on top of a book shelf in my room. I just pull out the box with the watch I want to wear for the day.

Cool idea! Now to convince my wife to place a bookshelf in our bedroom is another feat!! 😁

But...  with so many, how do you know which box the particular watch is in???

Believe it or not, good memory. I actually do know which watches are in which boxes.

Thank you for showing us these: an incredible collection. I am now reassured that my 31 watch collection doesn't need to be culled. I can breathe easy.

Yes, I have been told I am an enabler for the size of collections. 😂
