Bertuci A-2RA Retroform

I was digging through my watch collection and ran across my Bertucci watches. I have a DX3 Field and this A-2RA Retroform, which is another one of my Ameriquartz watches. I am really excited about the return of watchmaking to the US.

I’ll get an RGM someday. Love what Bertucci do, i have an A-2SEL and could go crazy on their catalogue. Also looking forward to see if Weiss expand their line.

I don't know that I can recall seeing "USA MOVT" on a watch before.

I have a Weiss 38mm Field watch on my list of watches to acquire. They are definitely doing great work. My understanding of their process is that they get movements from Switzerland and finish the assembly process at their own factory, but everything else is manufactured in the US. Do you know of anyone currently building automatic movements in the US? Fine Timepiece Solutions have a wide range of quartz movements and are working on their own automatic movement; the Americhron, but it is not available yet, and I do not know of anyone else actually building movements in the US.

I also have an Islander, the #ISL-101 that has USA Movement on the dial. I have two other watches with movements made in the US; my Vaer C5, which has "USA Assembly" on the dial and my Islander #ISL-78, which has a sterile dial with no text or logo but has Assembled in the US" on the case back. They all have Ameriquartz movements made at Fine Timepiece Solutions in Fountain Hills, AZ, and the Islanders are actually assembled at the FTS factory.

Hmm… these are interesting, but I’m slightly on the fence as postage to UK is going to be high (including taxes - it’s nearly £40 on Amazon).

Not sure about the Weiss though, that’s a lot of $$$.

The Vaer C5 looks quite pleasant, but I really like their A12 Dirty Dozen homage. I think they’ve got that one 🎯, but it’s going to be near £700 before shipping, it’s a gamble.

RGM is the only watchmaker in the US that I have heard of that make their own in-house movement (three or more maybe).
