Add your SOTC shot for the start of 2023, compare in a year...

Leave a single shot of your SOTC as it stands, with a note or two about what your expectations are for the year ahead.

I love looking at people's collections, and I've seen some great ones already this year. Every January, I have some ideas about where I think my collection is headed, and I'm often surprised by the results a year later.

In 2023, I'm planning to reduce, not grow. This is a journey I've been on for a while and I hope to get my current 10 down to just five by this time next year. I have a good idea of which will go and which will stay, but I've been wrong many, many times before... and I haven't gone a whole year without buying at least three watches in a decade and a half... so, we'll see, and that's the point of the thread.

The Year has just started and my ambition is not to enlarge my collection for 2023.

Cheers to all your wonderful collections🍻

This is SOCT 2023. Half of them were purchased in 2022. PRX, HAMI, Seiko GMT, Moonswatch. The lastest purchase is the G-Shock DW-5600E that is the cheapest -at$50- and most vintage available, it wears small for todays standards. Already took it to the beach with no issues. The yellow Victorinox is a 39mm quartz, on loan from my brother. Will get a yellow dial soon if I can.

On 2023. a mid tier luxury--- Longines or Tudor., maybe a vintage Rolex- At 15 pieces is where I want to be; So in 2022, I let go of a Timex weekender to my nephew and a Citizen Chandler to my brother to thin down.

YOU my friend are in a colorful dial path!!! Keep going. I would get a Junghans and a Sinn to scratch the german itch...the Braun did not doi it for me, although I like it.

I wasn’t going to post a SOTC until my two outstanding orders arrived (Stowa, Cartier) but here it is.  I’m glad I found the edit device that allows defeating Rolex’ baffling decision to put the serial number of each watch visibly on the rehaut.

My wife and I tend to trade watches back and forth from time to time so I think I should include a pic of her collection as well.  She is currently awaiting delivery of a pink Möels that will displace the pink Steinhart.

My collection as it currently stands. I'm getting more and more interested in an all IWC collection at this point.

My one watch after shrinking collection! 🙂

In the stable: Omega Speedy, Sub 14060M, Tudor S&G 36, Serica Diver, Nezumi Voiture, and Seiko 7002.  Have a few others of course, but these are currently in rotation.  I think for 2023 I will continue my hunt for the right white dial for me.  Currently considering a Santos medium, polar old explorer II, and the Christopher ward sealander 36mm.  But am open to new watch releases.

Future? Nothing much besides maybe adding a nice precious metal dress piece in the next 10 years?

One year on, this is what I have (there's a vintage Ordiam at the watch spa too). Quite a few changes...
