Thrift score!

I got this watch at a thrift store for 25 dollars, an okay price, on jomashop it's listed for around $100 and it looks like it ranges from 60 to 75 on ebay. Of course this particular watch is a little beat up, the black on the some of the links has worn away and there's a good sized scratch on the bezel, that stuff doesn't bother me. I always wonder what kind of "life" an object I buy used used to "live" before I got my hands on it, if anything any marks and scuffs just add to that. But the crystal is in really good shape and the watch feels fine, all it needed was a new battery, which I happened to have sitting around! Technically this watch does the things I look for in a watch, it tells time and looks cool. Of course, nowadays, this might not be enough for me.

I like having some kind of timer on my watches, it helps keep me on track and also provides some entertainment for me. One of the downsides to this watch is that there are big segments to the elapsed minutes dial that are bars instead of lines, so forget any sort of precise measurements for minutes sometimes. The buttons feel a bit mushy and i have to really make sure there's a good click when I use the pushers to start and reset the stop watch. I don't think it's from wear and tear.

The orange hand constantly runs, which I like, but it kinda renders the tachymeter scale on the bezel pointless. The orange gives it a good pop of color, although I wish the numbers on the chapter ring were the same shade! The seconds hand goes on to annoy me a bit by not lining up with most of the markings, even the cool applied hour markers. The lume is there, pretty good after some sun exposure, but if you blink you'll miss it.

The watch is a little big, but I don't mind since I tend to wear my usual big g shocks a lot of watches feel small. The nicely downturned lugs make it so that it wears comfortably, and it's not too tall.

I'd be kinda annoyed if I had paid retail price for this watch, but I've been wanting to try out some other brands other than my usual go tos. And it's still got a chronograph function. Plus it looks cool! It feels nice and heavy, solid all around. It just needs refinement that one won't find at the price I paid for it and maybe not at retail from  a "fashion" watch brand. Its just hard sometimes to be make a sensible choice when you got something cool in hand. The sensible choice would've been to save my hard earned cash to go to a better made watch or maybe towards some burritos. It would be a really cool watch for someone who isn't too into watches. But if you're reading this, I bet the downsides to the watch really would be a let down.

Nice review! I like the look of that watch. It sort of has a retro look to it. I was just looking at a Fossil to add to my digital collection. It has a nice retro vibe like the one you reviewed here.
