Probably a hot take here, but that brand for me is Patek. I think their watches are beautiful but most of them are too traditional or heritage looking.

judging from your liking of the ranger and 1016, I suspect this GS may be appealing to you.

If the gold watch had a black dial I would go for gold. But with these two I would go steel.

something about gold dial on gold that irks me.

I have owned and Orient near the beginning of my watch journey and found that it does not measure up to similar Seiko counter parts.

As many have already point out, Seiko prices are getting up there now.  So I can see someone getting an Orient instead to save a few bucks, but you would definitely be giving something up compared to a Seiko.

don‘t pay too much attention to diameter, lug to lug is what determines wearability for your wrist size.

Crazy that I've actually thought about this. It would be my GS White Birch Spring Drive. My thinking is the SD movement is going to outlast any battery (even solar rechargeable ones) and I can't think of a more accurate watch that doesn't have a battery. It's antimagnetic, and tough enough to survive anything that I can survive. The nature theme of the watch will also be a subtle reminder of those better days in the distant past.
