What is the one watch in your collection that is the most “you” and why?

Hey Crunchers, if you were to name one watch in your current collection that is the most ”you”, what would that be? Try and post pictures if you can as everyone would probably appreciate it!

Explorer I is my pick. I think of myself as someone with unassuming stature. Basically nothing about me stands out from the outside. But I strive to be blessing to people around me, and if you spend any amount time with me, chances are you will be impressed, not so much by the “excitement“ that I bring to your the party, but more my steadfast reliability in pretty much all that I promise to do. Do you agree that the explorer I embodies that?

Lets here it from you!

I think my green Orient Kamasu might be that watch for me. When I used to work in a cafe I would loan it to one of my employees when they forgot their watch. Typically I wear two watches (yes I know there is a whole thread please just let me live lol) and I would just loan them this one from my off wrist.

It is affordable, its kind of a spec-monkey, and it pretty tasty looking! Not to mention it was my first automatic watch I purchased as an adult.

My Casio.

God tier. 😎

Kinda weird looking, not exceptional in any way, but occasionally charming for some people.

i think its my orient kamasu, since it was my first mechanical watch that i purchase in my adult day. i do research and put some thought before make the decision. it also define me as a person, looking good with affordable budget 😂

My Aqua Terra. Flies under the radar a bit, comfortable in most situations, good looking (but not ostentatious). Showcases an appreciation for the finer things in life, but doesn't scream "look at me!" Also, the dial and hand colorway is a bit unusual for this model, which is also a reflection of how I roll. I like to be a little bit different, but not a complete outlier. 😉

I think I speak for everyone here when I say nobody cares about your opinion until you stop wearing two watches at the same time. Freak.

My upgraded SKX... there's more to it than one might expect...

The ”Freak” was a bit excessive.

MM300 Just all around awesome

Sinn 856.  Not flashy.  Simple, capable, legible.

I’m gonna go with my Doxa Sub 300T. I wouldn’t have thought that before purchasing it. But it just fits so nicely on my wrist. It’s also unique while most people who see it don’t know what it is. So it’s a little secret history on my wrist.

I’m really just a man child who wants to play with toys all day.

Tudor Black Bay 58

Quiet confidence balancing form (classic design, dimensions) and function (utilitarian, reliable, straightforward).

In my mind thats one of those mini transformers but instead of turning into a cassette it turns into a watch.

This watch has the most wrist time of any watch I own, it has been worn on dives, on surfboard, with a suit, with a tux, and while in uniform.  At the end of everything, there will be a Seiko 6309 still ticking somewhere, probably this one.

Great watch!

I am confused why you feel the need to make a general statement offhandedly tossed into the aether all about you? I didn’t need to be singled-out for your choice, no more than anyone else in this thread.

You also seem to have missed a small amount of context - what does my watch say about me? It says I don’t give a f**k about conforming.
I am none the wiser as to what your watch says about you; apparently your reason for choosing your watch is something to do about me not giving a f**k as well - if that’s the case I wouldn‘t choose a Rolex, they have a market share of around 70% of all luxury watches, so that would make them very much conformist. It’s nice, but it’s not as memorable as others.

I also own a Rolex, but it is a Milgauss, so read into that what you will.

An oldie (1981) but a goodie.

It transforms into a jet.

I used to have one of those! 2nd grade teacher took it away from me since it was distracting the rest of the class. I never got it back at the end of the year 😡

As much as I want to say it’s one of my other more expensive watches, there’s no doubt it’s this guy. Takes a beating, never goes out of style and is versatile. Not flashy at all, but still catches your attention now and again.

I have no idea. never thought about it. I guess if I had to pick (which would probably NOT be what people around me think of me) would be my $100 Fossil that I wear to work. It hasn't let me down except when the battery dies, which is no biggie. it's cheap, simple, and takes a beating. it just plain works. My wife, i believe, does not think for 1 sec that I fit that image.

Great Post.

My Timex Marlin with Snoopy at the 6 position typing is my pick.  I always liked character watches and is a reminder not to take life or myself too seriously.  The Timex Marlin is the watch I remember my Grandfather wearing his entire life and the watch that got me back into collecting.  I always loved Snoopy's optimism and just love Peanuts in general.  Lastly for the last 33 years I have been employed by a law firm as the coordinator in their Document Services Department, so I know my way around a keyboard and it is a job that provided for my family without having to dig ditches.  ; )
