Another Surprise Buy Spinnaker Bradner II

I have a problem, I can't stop looking at watches. If I am not on youtube, I am online at; Amazon, Watchmaxx, Jomashop and Ashford watches. Please if I left out better sites,...let me know.

It seems lately, I've had a thing for chunky, thick watches. I have two Hamiltons that are just the opposite, Khaki King and Khaki Field Auto 42mm. Recently I've made two purchases that I was extremely excited about. Tissot Heritage Viso-Date with the ETA 2824-2 & the Spinnaker Bradner II.

Let me first mention that I love what Dan Henry is doing with vintage and classic watches, it's where I first saw his 1970 Automatic Diver, loved It! I will at a later date purchasing Dan's 1939 military chronograph. It was Dan Henry site that I later made this purchase with Spinnaker.

Each time, I'd would go off on these massive exhausting watch safaris, just to end up back at Dan Henry's site. By the way, is this just me that goes off of binges looking over hundreds of watches for that one that just speaks to you and you alone? Anyway's, as I have said above..."I think I have a problem".

Google brought up the Spinnaker Bradner, and I took the bait. I found out that the Bradner was thicker, used the same NH35 movement but came with improvements that I couldn't get with the DH. By the way, apart from my ETA movement watches, I was nervous getting the NH35. It has been a great movement, that I love to self wind. Please these next reasons aren't always my reasons to buy a watch, they are only differences that made it for me this time around. First off; Spinnaker was a thicker watch, came with sapphire crystal with AR coating, increased water resistance depth, improved the lum, included the BEST beads of rice bracelet I have ever worn and included an exhibition movement window. After having this watch, I have also included a picture of the bezel. If you look closely at that bezel you'll see they created an angle at the top & bottom. To me, I love how that bezel design flows up through and into the sapphire crystal, lovely!

Just a note, not trying to be anyone tonight, I had to put my dog down today, after 14 wonderful years. Piper was an amazing Brittany Spaniel, great on our pheasant hunts, walks and an amazing member of our family. Our entire family was with her to the end. She spent her entire life loving us.  I wrote this to take a break from everything. We will miss you terribly Piper

First thing I'm sorry to hear of your dog passing. I have grown up with dogs and being older and retired she and I are inseparable. My thoughts are with you and the family.

I want to say I know how you feel about watches.  Everything watches is my moto lol. My wife rolls her eyes when she sees me just staring at it on my wrist. Well that should clue you in about my illness.

Like your choice in watches!

All I can say, your dog left you with great memories and that's where they'll live. So when you look at a watch with love remember those times with loved ones.

Enjoy the watch!

Man that got me. So sorry for your loss! In my experience, It’s best to get back on the horse right away. Nothing like a dogs love. Meantime, drown yourself in the watches. As much as you miss her, she appreciates the life you gave her.

I'm so sorry about your dog.

Yeah, we've all got the same problem, more or less. I'm here in the middle of the night cause I think I came down with the flu, and can't sleep

Sorry to hear about Piper. All dogs go to Heaven they say.

I have the Bradner too. Bought the Tidal Blue but swapped out the strap for a Bradner Beads of Rice bracelet. It’s a beaut. Enjoy yours. I’m sure you will.
