Cartier Tank Must Small
I know when I was looking to get a Tank, I was looking everywhere for pictures of the small and large on people’s wrists. I am a man with tiny 6 inch wrists, and pictures on a similarly built person were rare, so maybe this can be useful to someone else.
Personally, I think this looks great on my wrist. I tried on the large (the medium large, not the XL large) and I thought it looked ridiculous on me. It took up nearly my whole wrist.
The woman at the first AD I went to said “you know the small is a ladies watch, right?”. Sure, and my wrists are essentially the same size as a woman’s, so why would I wear the “men’s” size when I don’t have wrists the size of an average man? The whole concept of men’s vs women’s Tanks is stupid to me, and honestly I think the proportions on the large are wrong anyway. But hey, if you have large or even average male wrists, the large looks great. The small just fits me better.

I agree! Along those lines, I think every ladies watch being covered in diamonds and pink is terrible. I would never wear something like that, but not because it’s “for ladies” but because it’s gross.
I’m certainly not as cool as Muhammad Ali haha but I did also think of this when I got it.
I got the medium which looks similar on my as yours does on you. We were both right.
There’s something about rectangular watches that makes them wear bigger and there’s something about this particular watch. It’s meant to be fairly small on the wrist. I love the dial of the XL, but it’s just too damn big.

All you need to wear any watch is self confidence and belief in your own self worth. Ali had it in spades. I have almost an 8 inch wrist but I prefer the comfort of a 33mm Tissot. Only the lesser men will say anything against that ....with alcoholic bravery.
It looks good! I’m sure the (medium) large would look good too. It’s the XL that I find too big.

Mine is not a Cartier Tank, but a beautiful, vintage, rectangular, black dial Citizen dress watch from my Dad. Always love wearing it on my 6.25-inch wrist.

Couldn’t agree more. Love my 34mm Rolex date. 38mm is the largest unless we’re talking submariner. I have a Tudor gmt and I love it. Wears better than I would have imagined but I wear it less because I love classic sizes. See the tank on pierce Brosnan in Mrs Doubtfire. Looks beautiful.
