Ok, I’ve got about $600 to spend and I’m really wanting to add a vintage watch to my collection. What are your recommendations?
I’m seeing interesting options on Chrono24 by Zenith and Omega from the 30s-70s but am curious to hear your thoughts. (Also, I’m happy to drop extra on servicing after the fact- just want to stay $600- for the initial purchase 👌🏼)

Price is just one consideration. Explore eBay and other online vendors, not to buy from them, but to see what is out there. Zenith and Omega made fine watches but a forty year range will give you many styles and states of disrepair. Pick an era that appeals to you and concentrate there.

Great advice! But honestly, that’s part of the problem- I like SO many different things!!!

Find a style: post-war Art Deco tanks; mid-50’s textured dials; 1960’s stylistic minimalism; 1970’s funky flair. Pick one and mine it.
Like @Aurelian said. Sometimes you just gotta make a choice between seemingly equal options.
Also, don't feel like you are trapped in a watch. You bought it. There's enough of us enthusiasts & collectors out here with different tastes to buy it from you if you ended up not liking it.
