Thoughts on the new MAEN Hudson 38 GMT or MAEN as a brand in general?

I recently saw this watch and am really attracted to it. I think I might pick one up but wanted to ask if any one has experience with this brand and what their thoughts are on it?

Here is a link to the watch in case any one else finds it interesting.

Its a shame we get so little steel bezels

I think the guys who make these are on Watch Crunch as members .

I love the texture on the dial and bezel....👌Also looks like it will be an absolute strap monster and at a good price point.

I was table neighbors with Maen watches at Windup NY and as a brand owner and watch design nerd myself, I was thoroughly impressed. I cannot say enough about the watches. The finishing and construction is premium and right in line with a watches that cost $20k. That's not an exaggeration. I've also had the pleasure of spending some time with Jules and Sebastian, the founders, and they are excellent guys going about this the right way. Run, don't walk. You're not going to find that kind of watch at that price. I'm about to get my hands on their Manhattan. It's absolutely stunning in person.

Hello Jules!

Thanks for responding! I love the look and design of the watch from the photos online but live in Vermont, USA so I don't often get a chance to see or feel things in the metal and have never experienced a MAEN watch in person. I was just curious if anyone else has had experience with your timepieces and what their thoughts were. From your experience with the new Hudson GMT does it where like a smaller 38mm or a bigger 38mm?

Got my Manhattan 37 model delived a couple of weeks ago and I'm more than happy with what the brand delivers.

Check out my in-depth review, if you're interested:

@maenwatchesjules apologies to hijacking this thread but was curious if you there are plans/considerations of launching a Greenwich v2? I really liked this watch and planned to get one but by the time I was prepared to purchase the specific model/combo I wanted no longer in stock (black enamel dial with integrated rubber band). From that point, I figured I’d simply wait for more to restock but just fell off my radar until this thread prompted me to revisit. Checking today I learned it’s a model that’s now retired. By that definition does that mean we will never see a v2? Thanks again!

Hi! I would say that most replies we got is that it wears a little bit bigger. The lug to lug is quite long which is probably the reason for this. Actually @Max & I are working on a video for Watchcrunch showcasing the GMT and our new upcoming model. More on this will follow soon!

Hi, we do not have any plans to make a Greenwich MKII, this model was a limited run and will unfortunately not come back anymore.

Hi thanks for stepping up…can I ask about the strength of the lume. I had (sorry its moved on) one of your first Hudsons and at that period I was lume obsessed. I also didnt appreciate smaller watches then. Times have changed my taste and I’m seriously thinking of purchasing one of these. They’re simply beautiful but like some STRONG lume on a sports orientated watch

Apologies for for the long delayed reply, missed this comment. The lume on the new latest generation Hudson models is the strongest X1 we could find. both the GMT and normal diver share the same lume.

I'm thinking of buying a Hudson 38 GMT. I don't see any mention of anti reflective coating on the crystal on the website. Is the X1 lume good for all night legibility (I wear my watches to sleep/Im a light sleeper and need to know the time)? What material (Seramic? Aluminum? Steel?) is the bezel insert on the AGM.02 with silver bezel version?
