Hello, peoples In once again asking for YOUR help ๐ Basically, I'd like to get my 58 year old dad a new watch. He used to have watches years ago through gifts but ever since I started getting into watches he's had a little bit of forlorn envy in his eyes? So my mom and I would like to get him a watch ๐ I needed to abide by certain criteria though so I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions. The criteria being:
-Has to be less then $800
-Preferably a blue dial
-A GADA watch that can be dressed up a little but mainly an everyday watch that he won't feel bad about wearing often ๐คฃ
-No G shocks this time guys ๐ hahaha
-100m Min of WR
For reference of his past watches that he owned and liked
A Claude Valentine Chronograph with an opal dial And a Citizen Quarts.
One watch that he REALLY liked the look of bit way past the price range was the Longines Avigation Titanium Big Eye.
Also his wrist size is 7 3/4 inch.
Any ideas would be appreciated ๐ ๐
This looks like a handsome watchโฆ since he likes Citizenโฆ
But if Iโm you โฆ how about theseโฆ
You might consider something like an Islander Northport.
A baby Alpinist?
Maybe something in the SEIKO Range would appeal?, lots of models to choose from, loads have blue dials-
Seiko Presage Sharp Edge, Tissot Gentleman, Seiko Presage Cocktail if you like a little gold flare.
Seiko SPB167 (blue dial), SPB169 (green dial) and SPB165.
Tissot Gentleman
Seiko Presage SRPH78
Any of these i think

That gold Eco drive Citizen, is there one in Silver? I feel like my dad has moved passed his all gold wearing days ๐
How much does that blue citizen cost? That's fucking gorgeous ๐ โค

Honestly, the baby alpinist is actually a nice pick. Simple, rugged tool watch. Honestly, if I went a little further, something like the Alpinist Prospex line could work aswell to into the slightly more dressy side?

Yeah, Seiko got so many good options. Part of me wanted to not with Seiko because I LOVE Seiko so I didn't want to buy him something from a brand I really like ๐ hahaha

The Sharp Edge is a little out of the price range, and partially the Gentlemen but both fantastic options. The Cocktail Time is one to consider tho 100%

That Black dialed Mido with the rose gold handset is definitely speaking to me hahaha

You can pick up a new sharp edge for $800 or below from an AD after a discount depending on the colour. Gentleman still retails below $800 for even the PVD versions. Someone else already suggested the Baby Alpinist and it is a great option too for around $600.
The Citizen that @Ichibunz suggest is NB1060-12L and it is a JDM only model. You can find it for $700-800 from Sakura or discoveryjapan.

You're right if we were talking about in USD ๐ Unfortunately, in AUD the Sharp Edge retails for around $1500 and the Gentlemen retails for around $800-900. It's tough when aud isn't worth anything to watches ๐
Still Citizen, Mido and Seiko are looking real nice tho...
