Seiko SNJ025 water resistance

Hello dear Crunchers!

Since yesterday I am in possession of a #seiko SNJ025 "#arnie" and I am so proud and happy about it. The watch is just great and really gives me feelings of happiness.

However, I have a question regarding the water resistance and maybe there is someone here who can answer it for me or who has experience with this:

Seiko writes in the manual that you should close the crown and the two pushers before you go diving. But what about showering or washing your hands?

If you close the pushers (black ring not visible), you can't operate them, but I have to do that, for example, to turn on the light in the evening or switch off the alarm in the morning. That's why I have them open almost all the time (black ring visible). Does it harm the watch or is it fine like that?

Maybe some of you have been using this clock for a long time and can help me.

Thank you very much!

No harm until there is water intrusion. It probably won’t be an issue with the splash you might get washing your hands but I‘d be pretty wary of an open pusher around water. The Safarnie I bought last year has probably seen more wrist time than any other recent purchase.

Thank you very much for your answer. I have to admit that this thing with the pushers is a bit anoying and leads to me turning the screws all day 😅.
Nevertheless, the watch is an absolute dream and I think it will really compete with my #tutima
