Watches and Wonders (and wishes?) Predictions

So I’m a total novice in the watch world, but I still love guessing at things. And I also love hoping that things I’d like to buy will become available. So my question is, what do you think/hope will be revealed at watches and wonders this year?

I guessing an Omega Aqua Terra GMT, small seconds. Since almost every other brand already has, or debuted a new GMT in 2022, and Omega seems to like being a little bit behind on trends, that is my guess.

I have other thoughts but that is top of my imaginary list.

More 36 to 39mm of all stripes and styles. We left baggy cargo pants in the 90s (apologies to those who didn’t haha). We really need to let go of this fixation of larger is better/normal. So many classic watches from decades ago were modest in size.

I'm gonna go really out on a limb and make the wildly irresponsible prediction that GS is going to release one, maybe two, or even 20 new "nature-inspired" dial watches.

Blue Pelagos 39 and some super ridiculous precious metal anniversary Daytona that everyone will “ooohhh” and “ahhh” about but no one will ever get. Outlandish predictions, I know.

Looking forward to lusting after a watch inspired by the imprints GS staff boots leave on a muddy country road in Iwate Prefecture.

The verdant garden path outside the Shizukuishi studio, littered with McDonald's cheeseburger wrappers inspires the clown yellow and red crumply texture of the dial of SBGJ275.

Powering the watch is the Hi-Beat Caliber 9S86, which runs at 36,000 bph, delivers an accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds a day, and offers 55 hours of power reserve. A GMT function allows the user to track Central Time, making SBGJ275 an excellent timepiece for anyone seeking to remain in harmonious sync with McDonald's Chicago headquarters time zone.

SBGJ275 is a U.S. Special Edition.

The J Peterman Catalog folks need to team up with Grand Seiko. They’d be unstoppable. As long as they keep making knock me on my ass dials I don’t care what crazy story they come up with. Dial inspired by the wrinkles on grandpa’s forehead? Sign me the hell up.

Agreed. Unless you are built like an outhouse, anything larger than 42mm is excessive IMO

I used to follow Baselworld. Truth to be told, it's so much easier to ignore new watches when you don't have money to spend. Lol.

Having said that, GS will come out with a limited edition, Rolex will come out with a some precious metal watch and will keep trying to tell you that you can buy one (just that they never promise you WHEN 😀)
