#NWA My new Timex Marlin

So... I wanted a dress watch, I was considering the Seiko Tank, some real vintage pieces, the 38mm Bambino, even some Bulovas.

I was a little intimidated by the case size but I decided to give it a shot. On wrist it definitely feels different from modern size watches but it is a nice sensation !

It was a pretty good deal on Amazon so I pulled the trigger.

I'm not a big fan of the strap, it looks a little too " feminine " to my taste, on the other hand, I love the numerals, they remind me of Salvador Dali's paintings!

Love the minimalist throwback looks of the Timex Marlin! Lookin at it, reminds me of my childhood in the 60's. I can see my Dad (then in his 20's) dressed in his slim suit and skinny tie, getting ready to take my Mom out for a night on the town! 😎

I LOVE the looks of that watch. I don't like the idea of a winding watch. I'm afraid I'll over wind it and ruin the spring. I would break my no more purchases pledge to myself and buy it in an instant if it was quartz.

So is this the 34mm version??

Have same without the gold. It’s what got me into this watch mess. I just love it!

Enjoy yours!

Over-winding is harder to do than you would think, especially in modern watches. I was hesitant too, but it's no biggie.

it must have been amazing to grow up in the 60's !! many cool stuff happening in that era, and so many iconic were born at that time too

There really is a great selection of vintage Marlins available for great prices on ebay. Honestly, there are a lot of reasonably priced vintage watches from a lot of great brands; Bulova, Hamilton, Tissot, Junghans, Longines, and more.

Ihave a Marlin from the early 70's with the m24 movement.. and of course it needs to be fully serviced..its had alot of drawer time , problem is finding a watchmaker who will service it... ..have always liked the marlin..not the case but that champagne dial and the hearing of that tic, just makes me smile and recall the days of my youth...
