Vintage Ancre. French company founded in1900 and still going in a small way. I was lucky with this one. Purchased as a non runner the small seconds hand was rusted to the dial. I gently cleaned it and bingo! It's keeps very good time. I have older pocket watches but this is my oldest watch.

Great to hear 馃檶馃徏Lovely it was just such a simple fix. Enjoy your wednesday with this beautiful time capsule, Ian 馃嵒

Beautiful patina on the dial! If only this guy could tell stories. Nice acquisition Ian.

Thank you Herman. I hope you enjoy your Wednesday too.... without exams hopefully!

A beautiful time capsule. I like that. It's nice to have a simple fix. More often than not I make things worse and the watch ends up in my ever increasing watch graveyard! Perhaps weirdly I still enjoy non runners though and it's precisely because they are little time capsules as you say. I wish they could speak 馃檪 馃嵒

Hi Danilo.

That's amazing. I was just typing a reply to @honningblomst and saying exactly that I wish older watches could speak and up pops your comment! Twilight zone moment 馃檪

New exam tomorrow, and my last on 22nd, then its vacation (from school atleast).

It鈥檚 exactly why I love vintage watches. They鈥檙e time capsules from a different time, they all tell their own story. The best part about vintage watches, is when you know the story it鈥檚 lived, all the details and what it鈥檚 been trough. I鈥檓 fascinated by history, guess that鈥檚 why I鈥檓 so into vintage watches 馃嵒

What a nice piece and how great you got it working again! Boy that one has had a life, so cool!

Thank you Miguel.

It's so fascinating to imagine the lives of older watches. We can make it all up in our heads of course but whatever the reality is it's just lovely.

Cheers my friend. 馃嵒

Excellent I love that one, Great patina and I love the Roman numerals. Have a great day Ian. 馃憣
