What’s your favourite strap

Do you look at your watch box and see  24 watches all on bracelets or nato straps or is it a sea of leather, we all have our preference. with me it’s nato straps on steel sports watches

Confirmed bracelet guy here.  Even made a post about it in the not too distant past.

·

IMO nothing beats a really good bracelet.  Unfortunately that means that out of my 13 watches, only four are on bracelets.

·

Well right now I’m on a Leather/Suede kick as of late…

A very well-made bracelet for a watch is my preference.

Originally was a leather strap guy, but then I go my Lorier Neptune and really dug the bracelet. Then I got my Speedmaster on it's bracelet and it was fantastic, and recently for the 1WC I got the Uncle Seiko jubilee for my SARB033 and made me want to wear the watch much more than on it's OEM strap.

My favorite leather strap is my Two Stitch Honey Leather, but that's also my highest quality one (the others being all less than $20 CAD)

Single pass strap 4 life.

·

For me it's mostly a sea of leather. The odd nato/rubber/plastic/canvas strap amongst them - just two bracelets in a collection of 40 watches. The two bracelets are by Seiko and SanMartin, and the Seiko one is not particularly comfortable, but I like SanMartin's. I prefer my watches generally light on the wrist.

  1. Bracelet (as long as not made by Seiko 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️)
  2. Nato but single pass only please (known to chop unnecessarily flip flap away)
  3. Rubber… FKM though, no cheap silicon dust magnets.

and my wife dares to say I’m fussy 😤😂

Given the Florida humidity, Vanguard rubber strap on my BB58

I’m so indecisive. I love a well-done bracelet on a sports watch. I also love a single-pass nato and leather on field watches. I also love rubber straps on divers, especially in bright colors in the summer.

·

I used to be all bracelet all the way.  Sailcloth became my gateway into other straps.   Now I wear leather, sailcloth, single pass nato and even some rubber.  I still think certain watches only look good on a bracelet.

Bracelet if the watch came with one, rotating to NATO quite a bit throughout summer on dive watches. NATO on Flieger in summer. I love the look and feel of leather more than anything, but they don't come out until it cools off.

·

I can't stand NATO. I don't see the point in them either.

·

I'm like @Ichibunz where the use of bracelets and straps depend on the vibe I get for the day or week, and also on the need or occasion (e.g. dinner date out or have a client meeting, etc.). I've been on a bracelet kick of late, but now moving into a canvas strap phase. Generally, I like to mix it up from time to time.

·

I'm all over the map. Bracelet if I want to dress it up, single pass nato (C&B Chevron are really nice) for most days and rubber for swimming. Works great for travel - bring one watch and several bands.

·

One that fits! 😂😂

But in all seriousness, I find bracelets preferable. When hot, I sweat a good bit thus the inside of leather straps discolor and if worn too much in hot weather deteriorate. So for this simple reason I’m a bracelet type of guy. Rubber straps and hybrid straps are also good.

I mostly have rubber and leather straps, I quite like them, but now I’m leaning towards bracelets. I’ve bought 3 watches the last month and I’ve ordered bracelets for all 3.

Leather straps in autumn/winter

Bracelet in summer

Spring is a free-for-all.

I enjoy a variety of strap materials and types as much as a variety of watches, and also change straps to match the situation.  Seeing how others pair straps with watches on WRUW gives me ideas, too.  I will replace OEM straps and bracelets if they aren't good enough.

For example, although the Casio Duro strap is decent, especially for the cost, I found a great replacement bracelet that turns it into a much more premium watch.

@Jericho makes some great regular and exotic leather straps (the one made from chicken feet is one of my favorite straps). I like to wear it on the Weiss Ultralight, a strap monster.

BTW, @SeanS79, some Seiko bracelets are OK, but I'd include Casio, Orient, and Vostok in a list of bracelets to beware...

Yep, totally agree, bud. I live in a tropical country and it's hot and humid throughout the year. Bracelets are more comfortable to wear here.

·

My favourite strap is the Erika's Original MN strap, I find them to the most comfortable way to wear a watch. After that, I like leather, or single pass nylon straps.

At this time none of my watches has a bracelet on it, despite many coming with a bracelet.

·

On divers I prefer rubber, good quality rubber, not silicone. On non divers leather. In theory I would like a bracelet but all the scratches bothers my ocd.

·

i prefer bracelet and leather. the other not so much

·

NATO (seat belt style) and leather but mainly because after getting the bracelets off 2 of my watches and trying them with straps, I had a hard time getting them back on. I practiced putting the bracelet on with my wife's really old quartz beater (while changing the battery) and scratched the case so just decided I like the straps better now (which is kind of true).

·

Big fan of a nice leather strap for daily wear but there's just something about a well-finished jubilee bracelet... Can't beat it! Other than that, I haven't found a rubber strap that I've particularly loved and I'm not super into NATO straps either...

Given the Florida humidity, Vanguard rubber strap on my BB58

Excellent choice 👌

·

I am straight up 50/50 bracelets and straps.

·

Mostly bracelts, 1or2 leather and a few rubber. We ARE still talking about watches right??

·

Depends on the watch, the season, and my mood. I tend to prefer bracelets, but only if they can be sized for a comfortable fit, and only if they suit the watch.
