Tsovet - "Catalina" Dive watch

Catalina - such a lovlely sounding name .
One imagines a beautiful woman standing on the beach, the wind blowing her long brown hair, smiling at you in the evening sun and the small waves breaking between her feet.

As beautiful as this may sound, the Catalina I am talking about here is a watch. Not less beautiful and possibly even more usable in the water.
Because the Catalina here is a diver's watch with 240m WR.
42 mm in diameter and a pleasant 13.1 mm high.

It also has a beautiful and precise heart - the Miyota 9015.
It comes with a steel bracelet and an extra rubber strap, which is colour-coordinated with the colour of the watch.

The bracelet feels and looks like it is sandblasted - but I am honestly not sure - I still have to find out.
What I would like to highlight about the bracelet is the design of the links. The gradation of each link makes for a smooth transition, which makes it comfortable on the arm and also creates a beautiful visual image.
The strap does not rattle and the clasp is very solid.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the "double safety clasps" with both a push button and a shackle, but there are supposed to be fans of these too.

The design is slightly reminiscent of the old soviet design with a pleasant modern touch.
The colours are very nicely chosen, especially the shades are high-quality and pleasant.
The indices and markers on the dial are also very well set and have an excellent quality.

With the 42mm and a slightly longer Lug2Lug, I would prefer the watch on wrists longer than 17cm - but again, tastes differ.

As far as the feel and the technical details are concerned - you get a very good watch, which is def. one of the better ones in the price range around $500 and you should take a look at it.

What do you think of the Catalina ?

Tempting ?

I love the raised-look of its indices! As for the brown-haired woman…I experienced that. I qualified for my first shore dive on Catalina Island in 1993. One of the dive instructors and I became quite amorous on this trip and ended up romancing on the pier overlooking a Southern California Sunset. Yeah…good times!

So I discovered Tsovet watches when I saw this beauty for sale on a charity auction site. I'm a sucker for small seconds and it looked pretty cool so I bid. Got it cheap. This particular model is an early one with a Swiss Quartz movement.

I've got to say the quality is quite good and I get way more enjoyment out of it than I'd imagine for a low cost (but not cheap) used watch. This watch has great quality and I've visited their website. I'm drooling over the blue version of what you chose, the "San Miguel". They are contenders in the microbrand market IMHO. Enjoy, they have a 30% off sale right now for Valentine's.
