Nubeo - Thresher goes "Street Sharks"

Street Sharks! Does anyone still know this children's series from the 90s ?

I loved it ! And if the "boys" from the series had worn a watch - it would have been this Nubeo Thresher !

49 mm diameter - 18,5 mm height.

This watch is big ! There is no doubt about it !

I know that there are enough watch fans who love these big things !

And that's why I took a look at this watch.

It is big!

But is the quality big too ?!

The design of the watch is very well thought out.

There are shark teeth on the box, sharks on the dial, the indices on the dial are also on shark teeth and the second hand is in the shape of a long shark fin of an "Alopias vulpinus". The "teeth" of the bezel are also based on the dorsal fin of a shark. They really thought of the smallest detail here! This should be emphasised in a very positive way.

Regardless of whether you like the look or not - the level of detail is very good.

In addition, the dial gives a view into the interior of the watch and the details on the dial look very nice and of high quality.

In keeping with the theme, the watch has 300m WR and a solid bracelet. So you can wear the watch very well for diving.

The casebuild in general is massive - in keeping with the large watch.

Nothing rattles - although you have to keep the price range in mind here. The strap cannot be compared to watches over 1500€, but for the price it is completely solid and the other finishes on the watch also fit the price.

Inside the watch runs an automatic movement, which should be one of Seiko.

The bezel has an aluminium inlay on which you can read off the minutes in matching increments of 5. The crown is of course screw down and the glass is spahir glass.

I have already highlighted the depth of detail of the design in conjunction with the matching good workmanship.

What are the negative aspects?

Probably for some the design is to be considered as negative aspect - the very bulky specs and the focus on the shark theme.

But this is very subjective.

The technical facts are simply good. Good workmanship and suitable components. Often, in this price range, you have a very good movement (Swiss made) but a poor casebuild and/or a rickety strap.

Here, the casebuild is good, there is no rickety strap and you get a solid automatic movement.

If you like big watches and the design, you will definitely enjoy the Nubeo Thresher!
