Leijona 13059 - My third watch

I finally had an event where I could wear a suit + my dress watch, so I got the opportunity to make my third post in this series.

This Finnish Leijona from the 60s was my third watch. Leijona is a Finnish traditional watch brand and has been around since 1907. My grandfather gave it to me after christmas in 2021. It was his uncles watch and got passed down to him. The watch had been sitting in my gramps closet for many years after he got it. It has seen some real use and is in desperate need of a service but ticks and tocks away like nothing (by advancing a few minutes in every 24 hours). The crystal is scratched to oblivion and the gold plating has worn off from the bezel and a bit from the lugs. Even the lume has flaked away from the minute hand.

The watch means a lot to me and I love the patina it has. I will have it serviced and refurbished before my graduation so I can wear a fresh watch for the party :)

What a really beautiful watch.

Looks spot on with a pair of leather gloves 👌😎

Dare to say even that it "fits like a glove"😂. It was also spot on with my suit but I forgot to capture it that way.
