Hello ๐, quick question !
So my dream watch is a Rolex HULK, but since it is going for north of $18K I can't imagine ever buying one.
To scratch the itch I have been considering getting the Seiko SRPD61.
Now I have never handled them both in real life as my local AD doesn't have them both, but has any of you guys compared them directly?
I'm specially inquiring about that green of Seiko because I know for a fact that Rolex's Money green is perfect but I don't know about the seiko's green.
Any comments would help, thanks.

Iโm sure the seiko5 would be a nice option but you may also want to look at the spb103. The shade of green is less teal and closer to the Rolex.
I canโt speak to the color, although the Seiko seems a bit more teal in pictures at least. I can speak to the watch itself as I recently bought the SRPD51 (blue dial). Itโs very nice watch and beautiful dial, Iโve included a pic. Itโs definitely not on par with Rolex quality obviously, but for the price I think it punches above its level. It probably wears similar to modern Submariner, although a tad bigger on my wrist than older Submariners. I think itโs worth buying, since Iโm guessing you wonโt be getting that Hulk anytime soon.
My heart says hulk, but my wallet says seiko ๐ . That said, Orient has a green triton RA-AC0K02E10B you may like better with better materials than that Seiko.

Not the same green and a little uptick from a Seiko ,but I was wearing mine today and the comfort level and dimensions are ๐ค๐ผ(chefs kiss). Itโs my go to suggestion for people wanting a sub but dont want the price tag along with it. Itโs bracelet rivals my Rolexes for comfort and the finish is luxury.
The Seiko 5 SRPD63 variant is greener than this model and close to the Rolex Hulk, but this variant comes with rose gold accents. The SRPD61 has a more teal hue but is still a shade of green.
I would recommend you get seiko mod. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqFrjfhLtUp/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Perhaps the Orient Kano?
What are your thoughts on homages? I have a hulk homage, it's great
You will never be disappointed with the Seiko.
The quality and status of the Rolex is higher. But not hudred times higher, like the price (literally).
Get the Seiko and enjoy life ๐

Nice shade of green ๐

I like that shade of green but unfortunately the SPB103 is huge for me at 45mm

For the longest time I too thought that it was big, but when I tried the SRPD55 in real life it was perfect, the short L2L definitely helped.

I have a Rotary Henley GMT with a similar shade of green but it always looks grey or black indoors, it needs a lot of sunlight for the green to pup. I never seen this model in real life but I can only imagine that it's the same deal.

It looks very nice actually, congrats ๐
I like it but with the GMT function it will definitely be out of my budget
Would this be an option? You can select date/no date and green bezel. I've heard good things about this homage: https://watchdives.com/products/cronos-no-date-sub-diver-watch-l6005
I own a HULK but like you say the price is getting so that wearing as a daily isnt to practical..I found a micro that you might have an interest in. I did a review on it Ironclad 40 500m diver. I you have an interest let me know....
Would it scratch the itch? Only in the most basic of, "Hey, look at me, everybody, I've got a green watch on my wrist..." ways. If you think that's enough, great! But if you think the experience will be anything like owning the Rolex, or having people think you're wearing an exotic and expensive watch then, no. These watches are chalk and cheese. They share a sort of similar colour, and that's it. Give it a good think first.

Hommages are really my last resort

It doesn't look bad at all, how is the finishing on it?

The itch is for me not for people, I want to look down on my wrist and see a very green dial, I have a Rotary Henley GMT in green but it has a very dark green, so everytime I look at it, it is underwhelming.

Actually I was quite impressed..I'm picky . So many of the lower priced pieces seem/feel cheap to me. Even the Seiko diver I ordered. the bracelet was 'flimsy'. This watch is just as solid as any of my Omegas or the Rolex for that matter.
You can't go wrong with a Seiko. Well priced pristine product.
Save, pinch, don't go out, do what you have to and don't settle. Cheers

Come on man, be easy on me ๐ฅน, enjoy it my friend.
Ow ok, that's very interesting, thank you so much ๐
I had that exact Seiko but modded it out. Main reason is the green is not a rich color, too bright to look classy (my taste only). Also, not a screw down crown. Hereโs what I turned it into but still not screw down. If your heart is set on green, try this one, https://www.christopherward.com/int/watches/C60-Trident-Pro-300/C60-42ADA31S0VV0-RO.html
Hahahaha ๐๐คฃ๐๐คฃ that's a very strong metaphor but I love it, thanks

Aaa ok thank you, and I love what you've done with yours ๐
You should either:
get the SRPD63 (+ some modding perhaps?)
Or get a Chronos copy. Iโve read they make the best Rolex knockoffs
