Power Rankings: One Watch Challenge

It's been a few days. There was heartache. The underdog bronze watch did nothing wrong.  The Cruncher wearing it did. Arbitrary rules are meant to trip you up. Other Crunchers (@hakki501  and @unseenhero ) tried to shout warnings to no avail. I have sworn off warnings because it makes it look like I have my thumb on the scale. Sorry @thekris . You fought well.

The supercomputer has shuffled it up a bit, but nevertheless favors spite as a motivation. Watch your step.

As the numbers slowly dwindle and the challenges become confusing to say the least, living in the future is proving to become more of a hinderance than an advantage. Rule changes taking place on the day prior mean’s I’m having to constantly check your posts , so much for my doctors instructions to relax and take it easy while I’m off work 🤣 I think I need to get back to work and some normalcy.

I almost missed your post about wearing my watch on your dominant hand, I’ve had members point out that a spider is not a insect, Derrrr 🤪 it’s an arachnid. It‘s the middle of winter in Australia, so not many bugs or insects around, so a spider will just have to suffice. So being Monday here I’m on the hunt for a food type that is not native to me and my Direnzo photographed on my dominant wrist.

If this challenge does do anything, it definitely challenges the old gray matter and has me constantly glued to my computer looking for rule changes. I’ve come to far, 46 days, too drop out now or to miss one of the changes to the rules 😉

Keep them changes coming and let’s see the numbers at day 60, I’ve a feeling it will be only 4 of us fools left 🤪

·

I set out to prove I could wear one watch longer than anyone else here. I won’t say I did that, but I won’t admit defeat. I’ve worn the same watch for 45 days in a row, and as the need for arbitrary rule changes show, I could probably do it for 100 more.

Cheers to everybody still in this thing. You’ve held strong and should be proud of yourselves. If arbitrary tests of stubbornness are the measure, you’re all heroes in my book.

Mate thank you for your praise and you should definitely be proud of yourself, 45 days with the one watch is no easy feat and most on WC couldn't last 7 days let alone 45 days.

I have to admit that of all the people left I thought for sure you would be one of them, you seem as stubborn as myself and the rest of the fools here 🤣

It's definitely been challenging so far, especially now with all these constant changes, but I do enjoy the way in which it has been ramped up. So moving forward I foresee only 4 left by the 60 day mark, who the two are that will fall by the way side, I have my suspicions but I'll keep them to myself for now 😜

Thanks for your kind words.  If stubbornness were the only measure, I'd be going strong.  Good luck, I'll be pulling for you.

Hey mate, when you get a chance can you have a look at a post I just put up. I would like to hear your opinion and if you have any recommendations at all.

If the 1WC has taught me one thing, it’s that opening my watch box and pondering my next watch selection is the greatest satisfaction of building and wearing my collection.

I heartily recommend giving up this foolishness and return to the arms of madness.

You're free my boy!  Congrats on surviving as far as you did and welcome back to the warm embrace of chronological choice.

You should now wear a different watch every day for the next 45 days to make up for lost time 😉

In newer here. So, can someone bring me up to speed? What is the one watch challenge?

·

I thought you were going to start with "Once upon a time, in a far away land called WatchCrunch, there lived ogre called Aurelian"

Now that would be hilarious 🤣🤣🤣

·

Why the 1WC isn't on"TheOcho"at this point is beyond me!!

·

How I'm watching this play out...

Sorry to loose you from the team @thekris

Is there a way users can keep track more easily of ANY type of announcement, not just 1WC, other than scrolling through everyone’s post on the Home page? If not, that’s a usability issue.

I joined WC late June and thought that the 1WC rules apply to everyone posting on WRUW.

Sorry to here that.

The challenge was started by a bunch of people (Fools) here on WC as a way of, well challenging yourself really, self control and just wearing one watch for a period of time, which was set out to be 30 days originally. At the end of that time the last person still wearing the same watch 8hrs a day would win a prize from Max one of the founders of WC, a T-Shirt and Cap I believe. This has since gone on and so for me it's day 47.

It's all just a bit of fun really and a lot of banter back and forth between the members, which by the way your more than welcome to join in. While it may be a little late to join the actual challenge, you can still join in the conversations, all are welcome here 🙏

Yeah, once I saw the list of the final participants, it dawned on me what's happening 😆. That's fine, I enjoyed creating those few 1WC-themed pictures. I hope it doesn't go against the rules if I post less watch-on-wrist photos on WRUW, and try to create ones with different backgrounds instead.

That's perfectly fine and it is encouraged to post quirky and themed photos. There is a thread where you are encouraged to post a different themed watch shot every week. It's not a competition or anything like that, just everyone getting together and trying to improve their photographic skills and of course have a few laughs along the way.

You should join in 💯

I'm guessing by your profile picture that you are a women, but excuse me if I'm wrong, it may just be the long hair and you can't just assume someone is a girl based on that, my youngest boy at 15 has hair down to his backside. But if I'm correct then welcome aboard and it's great to see more women joining the forum, DeeperBlue will be glad to see more women onboard, see her poll regarding women on WatchCruch.
