I think it's always something that can be admired inside the studios they work in. They must have run our of nature. So maybe the local cantine or a takeaway could provide inspiration?

A sushi dial could give the the Rolex color bubble a run for its money

Westfield Car Park edition

I don't live too far from this. In autumn it looks colorful, like sushi. Also it's the Disney castle I think. Which played a key role in #1WC. 😅 not sure I fully get the rule in this post.

GS could find inspiration in the colors of the fireworks at Disney World, which is only a 2.5 hour drive from me. #1wc

Are you going to the mall to pick up the Panerai? Your WRUW doesn't opine about the chances of your watch winning which would disqualify you I think.

If you remind people then it makes it easy to comply… you could have just let that lie. With the current rules you have until the end of the day, so one can formulate a witty response and then add it at leisure. I’m just at the cinema at the moment, so once I’ve finished being sociable then I can play @Aurelian’s dastardly game.

Being on the edge of the Peak District would give them plenty of options....

...but my personal pick would be a dial based on the beautiful stone used in construction...

....or possibly something related to Ladybower reservoir and it's massive plugholes...

The coastline should provide inspiration on many levels.

This is a picture I took of the Jurassic Coast about 20 minutes from where I live...

Is there a more important location in terms of evolution? Hundreds of millions of years ago our very distant ancestors crawled out of the water somewhere like this. Without that, we wouldn't be here jumping through hoops to stay in a contest for watch collectors that defeats the object of a watch collection 🤔

Those ancestors probably wonder if all the effort of crawling up the beach was worth it. 😏

Jersey's got some pretty nice sunsets. At least I'd like to think so 🥰 Honestly though, this happens right in front of my home. The sunsets are nutty. The skies are truly ablaze. #1wc

OH! I want this job. I like when GS drops the subtlety and does a dial as it much as it appears in nature.

The new SLGA023 Ushio does this in spades. It puts me in the mind of being mid channel in Desolation Sound as a afternoon fresh breeze kicks in and it's spot on. 1 knot pre whitecaps.

I'd love to see more Canadian nature dials.

The jagged and beautiful and Rocky Mountains.

Don't call it Tiffany blue lake Morraine lake

Or perhaps real but fake looking but very real Peyto Lake

Hofram Inlet with it's mountains, always glassy water and west coast rainforest

..and for something quite different, downtown Osaka with it's retro future Bladerunner vibe

I remember it fondly. Bucks County was beautiful in my childhood. We lived over in slightly grittier Willow Grove.

As a native of New Jersey it is always fair game.

The Playhouse! Damn, but it's been a minute.

I used to go over to the Willow Grove Park Mall on the regular. Grew up in Upper Southampton. Small world.

I live among the plains next to the foothills of mount level, surrounded by seas of corn. A GS dial designer who spent some time around here would be inspired to name his next watch “Tōmorokoshi” (corn).

I’m thinking of a GS champagne dial with a little more texture and maybe a little more yellow 😜 #1WC

Or maybe with more yellow and less pink, Shunbun could be reissued as Popcorn

I think that gs could take some influence of the glittering lights on the Las Vegas Strip!

Or maybe they could get some ideas out of the stripes on the walls of Lake Mead, which is running out of water!

Where in your locale would GS find inspiration?

Yikes. @Aurelian is really trying to winnow down the field.

What is my locale, New York City? Northern California? It has to be NYC, I’ve been here for over a decade and my kids are born here. Haven’t enjoyed much nature in this 🎶concrete jungle where dreams are made of🎶. I haven’t done much outdoorsy things other than apple picking and trips down the Jersey Shore (to stay in a house).

Then, I remembered the artisans at Grand Seiko also celebrate human craftsmanship, like the nanbu tekki dials on the SBGK017 or some Japanese castle in the GS9 exclusive.

So I present to you, the Chrysler Building, something that I often walk past on the way to the office:

Sunlight plays off its spire like it belongs on a Grand Seiko dial.

The only thing of note in Indiana to recommend would be cornfields, so I'll also rep my hometown of Charleston SC. I'd like to see a dial inspired by Folly Beach post-renourishment. Grit, shells, something that screams "I'm raw and alive and ready to be trampled on by tourists until a fight breaks out and they ban alcohol on the beach"
