Wives and watches are like water and oil they just don't mix
But the right mixture like Oil and Vinegar is A perfect Match 😉
Buy the wife a Cartier and watch that mix quickly change.
Probably because it’s your hobby and not her’s
She is just fine as long as I change the batteries on her quartz watches.
Aside from all the quirky and embarrassing remarks; try husbands and watches! Not a good mix either...
Spouses and broad generalizations certainly don't mix anyhow.
It likely depends on he spouse. My sweetheart is not only very supportive. She is occasionally also my enabler and has purchased several beauties that are in my collection as thoughtful and very welcome 'just because' gifts.
I hope that I'm not the only one here who's lucky enough to have a partner who encouraged my interests!!
Well that didn't go well...
My wife just sent me a link to a local estate sale with some watches, and asked me if she should go and try to get them?
Some of my best watches are gifts from my wife. She also performs a very valuable service:
me on Instagram: Oh look! <insert random micro brand> has a new <insert diver or racing chronograph>. I'm going to get it.
wife: You're saving up for another Grand Seiko, stay the course.
me: thanks babe, I almost lost my mind there.
My wife does that too. I brought up the Seiko GMT and she said,"aren't you saving for your 40th bday watch.."
Came into this post like...
...then read the comments and am reminded how awesome the WC fam is.
Nothing to add.
My wife is very supportive in my hobby. And whenever she is not supportive on something, I find that I would usually do well to listen. 😅
My wife enjoys watches every bit as much as I do. She has a very nice collection that she wears regularly.
my gf happen to be looking at her phone when i give her some history lesson about wristwatch 😂😂. but i believe there are a few women that into watch like here at watchcrunch
Exactly, which is why it's important to keep it vague.
Wifey, "Do you have more than 50 watches? 60?"
Me, * crickets *
