Someone please explain to me why the rado has always been Underrated and unloved 😒😒
I don't think they're underrated just not as popular as other brands in their price range, I've never owned one but really like the Captain Cook watches. I work with a load of Indian guys fro Goa and for them Rado is their Rolex, it's a hugely successful brand on the subcontinent.
That case is wild and goes brilliantly with the strap. I really like the vertical Day Date at 6, I had a beautiful old Delma with that feature but could never get it running, sold it on to somene who hopefully could.
I'll be happy to buy a Rado, when they make an affordable minute repeater.
See a thread about Porsche Design and disregard the stuff about the car name. Avant garde design is polarizing. Edgy design makes people suspect the guts are not the star of the show (or noteworthy whatsoever).
I want to say they were a Sharper Image darling for a while, but I may be wrong. That's a niche market though. I recall terrestrial radio Howard Stern doing live read ads for them. I believe he used a hard A sound, which ... how is it pronounced?
You wear that watch well! Is that DiaStar a reissue or a vintage model? Does your experience with it back up its legend as scratch resistant king?
As long as they are still able to make watches, I think you benefit from having something more unique if they are underrated.
Here are some more Rados that I love, but have never held, photos from various corners of the internet...
This one is actually vintage it is not a reissue, Yes I do enjoy it very much and it is scratch resistant
Guys like you , Is the reason why I'm keeping it
No Pilot watches no go for me.
Too right young man, that is an excellent watch
I was born in Ethiopia, living in upstate New York, I absolutely love watches especially vintage ones, I can't explain Why I own these watches, the only thing I can say is This is definitely my Passion...
