Mr. Jones Perfectly Useless Afternoon is the greatest watch for #1wc
This watch is the greatest choice simply because it is the most fun to wear. Before the cold, dark days of #1wc, it was fun moving from a normal watch to this.
Don't take the hobby to seriously, embrace whimsy, colours and creative designs. Many of Mr. Jones' designs capture that.
But seriously, I chose this watch for 5 main reasons.
It means a lot to me and I enjoy wearing it everytime. It was a gift from my wife for our wedding. Everytime I wear it, I think of her.
It is a seriously comfortable watch to wear. The Milanese bracelet conforms to your wrist very nicely and it doesn't tug on any of my excessive "Monke" wrist hairs. The case size is also perfect for an everyday watch.
It's actually quite easy to read at a glance believe it or not. The little floaty dudes leg is the hour hand and the rubber duck is the minute hand. Notice the lines in the pool line up perfectly with the hour markers.
My baby cousin loves this watch and her birthday party fell in the early days of #1wc.
I thought it would be funny if this beat out a bunch of objectively better watches. I know a Fossil went far last year, but this is the year of the Mr. Jones.
Which Disney princess would wear this thing? Obviously Aiel from the Little Mermaid. She would somehow be able to talk to the duck or something and a musical number would break out.
I like affordable & unique watches.

I had a Mr. Jones watch that I loved, but I sold it because it was very hard to read. I thought it was gorgeous, but felt disappointed every time I wore it because I felt like I had less idea of what time it was than if I didn't have a watch on... Mine was the tiger watch. So pretty.... So hard to read...

Yes, we're largely a bunch of dudes here (come on recruit your spouses, friends and co-workers!) but I guarantee a lot of us know at least some of the lyrics to Little Mermaid songs if you're of a certain generation or if you have kids (inescapable in that case).
But who cares? No Big Deal . . . I waaaant . . . . morrrrrre . . . I want to be where the watches are . . .

Beautiful watch but I completely understand. There are a few designs using jump hours and minutes that I don't think I'd like because of the poor legibility.

It's another mad one, I approve. A watch that looks like it's full of water, now there's a thing. No it's just mad and I like it, not so much as I hope it wins though.
I like this watch for this time of year and embracing the weather. Well done on selecting such a strong choice!
I applaud them for what they are, but I just can't. If they make you happy, I'm glad they exist. But if it was the only watch left on earth, I'd have to pass.
