I have successfully ruined the financial futures of four of my friends. Including my cousin, who didn't know the difference between quartz and mechanical, can now identify watches from commercials!

Maybe 1 or 2. Most everyone I know thinks this is stupid. 😜
I haven't tried in a few years though. Maybe in the era of watch media and generally expanded public interest more people would be receptive.

i think 4 or 5 people became watch addict because of me
Only thing on anyone I know is a phone attached to their hand. They leave me alone during this and I don't want to spoil their zombie state. Maybe a smartwatch on the health nuts.

Yeah, that's true. Some of my family members got blown away just by the fact that there are proper boxes for keeping watches let alone the hobby of "watch collecting" 😂

I am not even talking about this hobby outside WIS circles to anyone, maybe to my wife. She has become very enthusiastic about the one watch i have bought for her (a quartz Aquaracer), but she is clearly one watch person. I envy her for that ;)
One of my friends and my girlfriend a bit. But they have had watches in the past until recently. They both appreciate a good watch due to me being all like, "look at this!"
