So finally got my first mechanical watch, which also happens to be my first microbrand purchase!
It is the Summit Series, Ref. S2301 from Delhi Watch Company, India. It's a 70th-anniversary homage to the Everest watch — the Rolex Oyster Perpetual worn by Sir Edmund Hillary on May 29, 1953. The watch is limited to 500 pieces, mine is number 407.
Inside there's a Citizen 8200 movement. So it's an automatic. Dial is 37 mm, case height 14 mm, lug to lug 42 mm and lug width is 18 mm.
What I love the most about the watch is that the back is laser engraved with the summit details: “Mt. Everest 8,849M 11:30am May 29 1953”
Yeah yeah, I know the watch is upside down :P noticed it long after returning from that location.
I promise I'd never use "A Man & His Watch" as a prop.
Beautiful watch, I definitely have to check them out now!
