I saw the pink second hand and thought this would be the same as the one @Aurelian has, but it is slightly different.

I just read this. Actually really interesting to find out a piece of history.

I bought my son a Citizen Homer Japanese railroad watch from 1971 as a high school graduation present. He'll get it in a month or so. Citizen made these watches for the Japanese railroad workers throughout the 1960s and 70s.

That’s sick looking!

That’s sick looking!

There are also Japanese characters on the back that indicate specifically at which region or station (or something) the original owner worked. My son has taken four years of high school Japanese, so we'll put it to the test and see if he can decipher what it says. I did figure out that the year is 1971, but that's as far as I could get.

Nice watch Antonio!

I like how Seiko allways has a lot of variants on cases and dials that made it righ collectible. 😊

·

Beautiful watch with a neat backstory. Let us know what the Japanese says.

#seiko “Railroad Approved” watches were originally designed for railway employees and had to meet strict accuracy standards.
