My Zulu Spirit was 40% off with stickers and honestly, I still overpaid.

Insightful writeup as always and I think the worst is yet to come. Q2 market wise has been in the toilet and for many, when they see savings go down, so does spending.

Throw in the fact expenses across the board are up, parents in the US are caught in an arms races with youth sports and activities because hey, if little Johnny Football doesn't take lessons all year around (and subsequently quit when puberty strikes) how will they keep up? I joke, but it is another thing so many people are spending more on post covid. Far less money for watches and cars. Heck, look at mass secondary car prices not named Porsche.

People spent years over paying and it is catching up. Oh, and there is that whole "It is expensive to borrow" thing.

It speaks to what many of us say, buying well is as, if not more, important than selling well, especially with luxury goods. I am a "blood on the streets" type of person, so I look forward to paying $8K for a Moser soon. :-)

If you are talking fully customer, you will want to find a Private Label co to make it. You have have it fully done in China, Germany, Switzerland, etc. The problem is not many brands will cough up their private label since they are usually done privately for good reasons on both sides. A google of "<insert country" private label watch manufacturer" will yield lots of results. Be prepared to pay for the prototype up front and build it into your costs.

That’s a cool piece, especially for those looking for a more stylized strap.

If I tried to do a full 20 that would absolutely be there, ditto for another JLC and likely Patek too.

Own both. Both great brands, but short of the Bel Canto (amazing watch) they are in two separate leagues. Bremont.

I need to find some curved quick release bars for one of mine. I know a couple places have them, like Delugs, but shipping cost more than the bars, so until I can package them with something, I have a gorgeous watch I’m not wearing because I don’t care for the strap.

At best there are four dress watches on that list. These are ten of my faves outside of the likes of one off builds from brands like Roger Smith. I would argue any top ten list that did not have some iteration of these models is a flawed list.

Tank, Reverso, Calatrava, 1908, Classique, Echi II, Moser Vanta Venturer Black, VC Patrimony Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, L.U.C 1860, Saxonia Thin, and Laurent Ferrier Classic Micro-Rotor
