Micro Tournament Round 1 Day 1: Unimatic Vs. Formex

Basic rules: - Voting is based on the overall brand, not the individual model or sample photo. - There are no rules on how you should choose, but you are welcome to civilly debate quality, value, heritage, etc. - Voters are encouraged to look at the hashtags for threads on individual brands or visit their sites. - Poll closes apx 11PM ET 6/22. - Be respectful of all the brands and members, even if the vote does not go your way. This is meant to be lighthearted fun to raise awareness of 32 microbrands. - Ties will go to the brand with the most unique user-owned photos of their watch. - Good luck and have fun!

Formex is a sleeper to go far in this tournament. Tough to find many better built watches under $5k let alone $3k:)

Damnit, this is the most difficult matchup of the first round.  I'll give it to Formex on a buzzer beater.

For context on my pick, Unimatic has my favorite dial design language of any microbrand.  In fact, I once purchased a U1-F and wore it for months.  However, after giving my Orient Kamasu some wrist time, I came to the realization that the Unimatic's straight lugs and thick case caused the watch to sit on top on my small wrist.  I eventually sold the watch.

Formex recently came out with a 41 mm carbon cased chronometer that is absolutely gorgeous in green. Here is a pic:
