Farer Bernina - Finally On The Right Strap

I had been eyeballing one of these since launch, so I patiently waited and grabbed this like-new second hand in November. Like many in the price point, the bracelet was a weak point, so it sat in my box until this custom strap arrived (three months later). I feel the brown rally strap suits the dial well and red stitching means 5+ horsepower correct? I do not see many of these kicking around, so figured I would share something a little different.

That is one absolutely gorgeous watch!

I love what Farer are doing with all their incredible colorways.  I wish I could find a dealer and try some on in person.  They all look so good online, but want to put it on the wrist before pulling the trigger.

How did you decide on the Bernina, and did you trust that it would wear well based on the specs and photos?

I really wanted to get a Farer, but did not know which one and when I came across this in a Worn and Wound review, it was really striking and I couldn't stop thinking of the colorway.  The size was right and given the manual wind movement, it sits well compared to the 7750s usually seen at the price point. Around $1500 second-hand, I was willing to gamble a little bit based on specs (41mm/46 lug to lug). I knew I would get a different strap immediately, but was hoping the bracelet would be fine for a while (it wasn't).

I have one too. I'mnot sure if you have the old or new bracelet. I got the new bracelet which came out late 2021 for my Bernina. Can't say what difference, if any, there are in the actual bracelet links themselves. But, they have added quick release spring bars and a new folding clasp. Idk, I like it. Seems weel made to me. It does have mail solid end links. But, they are the shortest ones I've ever seen or experienced. So much so, it's maybe technically a double female endlink. I'm a bracelet person and had to get this. But, this watch probably wears best on a leather rally strap of some sort.. it's actually quite a strap monster and thus seems to work on white a variety of straps which I've tried.

Thanks. I happened to watch some of your vids as you were experimenting with straps, so thanks!

Re the bracelet; I believe I have the newest one when comparing to the site, as well as it is a June 2021 watch model. I always buy the bracelet when possible for higher end watches, but sadly for me, this one feels like an inexpensive Seiko bracelet (hollow links, stamped clasp, pin and collar, etc), similar in quality and feel to the Oak and Oscar in the same price point. That said, the quick release is nice and works smoothly.

Very nice, the colourway is great, not often seen but works well.
