Question is vague on purpose. Some do more analysis than others. Curious of the sentiment despite extremely different supply and demand for each.

100% agree. Used the term value retention as opposed to investment. Sort of like buying gold. Portable hard asset no counterparty risk. Chose $100K because thats probably the number you would have to min spend for the purpose on 2-3 of these.

I wouldn't and neither should anyone else. Never buy watches for retention value. Buy them because you enjoy them.
Watches are a shitty investment with rare exceptions.
I’d buy a platinum Daytona. If the value drop then just wear it and enjoy! It’s a win win.
