It would be great to see your solutions!

As the kids have gotten older and gone off to college and jobs, the missus and I find ourselves with extra rooms. Besides, no one throws big shindigs anymore and the main ballroom in the east wing sits empty most of the year (except during Lughnasadh).

A old department store was liquidated near me and I was fortunate enough to acquire its stock of fixtures. I was able to flip the racks and displays to a small clothier in Alabama, however I was left with many male mannequins. So, now in the ballroom I display each of my watches on the left wrist of a mannequin clothed in period correct dress to correspond to the age of the watch. They are currently arrayed like Emperor Qin Shi Huang's terra cotta army, however sometimes I keep them in a more naturalistic repose.

Everyone does this, right?

My mannequins don’t have clothes on in case a burglar gets into my house.
One view into the room and he gets so scared he leaves the house immediately.

OR! Have them all hanging upside down…fake (or real - your choice) blood running down their arms and heads. Also air-con the room so it’s always cold in there….👺👹🤘

Thank You! 🙏🙏🙏

Too kind!

I would now actually like to hear a news story about a burglar he fell down the stairs after being confronted by that ‘scene’ and was apprehended. I would immediately think: WATCH CRUNCHER!

My watches are few in number and are all worn regularly, so they just sit side by side on the dresser.  They’re tools for telling time, and I don’t put any of my other tools or EDC items in display cases either.  That’s just me, no judgement on those who do.

I got one of those large wall mounted magnetic boards for knives, and I just stick all my watches to the wall. It works great, but for some reason all my watches seem to run fast these days.

Maybe I should go back to just keeping them in watch boxes.
