I was browsing Timex.com and saw the MK1 Mechanical for 1/2 price. With a 15% coupon for giving Timex my email, I got the watch for $85... not a bad deal for a vintage style stainless steel hand winder. Some Q's, Waterbury, Marlin, and Expedition deals too.

Do they want it said as "Mark One" or "Em Kay One?"
From a military perspective, it would be pronounced "mark one."
Still feels like a lot for an acrylic crystal and Chinese movement.

My other watch purchases this year - a Casio Duro for $42 and an Invicta 1953 "Batman" for $88 are both more durable (200m WR, mineral crystal) and have more time-tested movements, and are therefore better value for money... but the MK1 Mechanical is about nostalgia, and you always have to pay a little extra for that (as well as the Timex name and US warranty). Lots of people jumped at the original $185 price when this was introduced a few years ago, so I still feel like I'm getting a good deal at $85.
