Mercedes = Cartier - unquestionably luxury, possibly doing it better than its competitor Rolex, but coming just short of having the same level of caché
Rolls Royce = Patek Philippe -- The height of mass market luxury, still produced in volume, but finished by hand
BMW = Rolex -- People think it's the top of the mark when it comes to luxury, but it's really not, there are other, more respected brands out there -- not that it means it comes cheap, by any means
Audi = IWC - the third wheel of luxury pieces, often forgotten by the masses, made using off the shelf components, and presented as being held to a higher standard than it really is
Bentley = Vacheron Constantin -- the ever-so-slightly sportier, cheaper counterpart to Patek Philippe -- it fights in the same weight class, but can't really beat the reigning champ
Lexus - Grand Seiko - the luxury version of Seiko with upgrades galore.
Toyota - Seiko. Japanese. Dependable, reliable, no-frills.
Hyundai/Genesis = TAG Heuer - capable of building some really nice pieces, if only their styling, marketing and engineering were somewhat better and more consistent, they'd probably have even more respect
Ford = Hamilton - dependable, reliable, mainstream, mass market
Cadillac = Omega -- Once at the top of its game, currently working on revamping its image, trying to claw its way back to the height of the mass market where it used to sit 50 years ago, before it lost its top spot to the upstarts
Maybach = Audemars Piguet -- A storied manufacturer with a long history and highly respected name amongst the public, but whose offerings have been reduced to the point that the nameplate is rarely, if ever, really seen, and when it is, typically it's only on a single model
Porsche = JLC - the often overlooked and forgotten ultra-lux brand that is responsible for significant innovations and puts out a high quality product, maybe not quite equivalent to some of the other ultra-lux makers, but not too far off the mark
McLaren - A. Lange & Sohne - the definition of a low volume, and very expensive marque at every level
Acura = Breitling - regarded as a luxury brand, but without the same big name brand cache as the big boys in the segment, prone to making missteps, even if its trying to fix them and save itself
Volvo = Gerard Perregaux - storied brand with a long history, relegated to a small niche in the market
Jaguar = Zenith - great engined but often overlooked luxury brand
Land Rover = Hublot -- popular, but why? Few, if any redeeming qualities to justify the status accorded.
Alfa Romeo = Panerai -- Italian. 'Nuff said.
Bugatti = Breguet -- marque by a mass market brand competing in the ultra-lux market
Aston-Martin = Bvlgari -- a high end brand with somewhat quirky product offerings
Mini = Tudor -- a lower end offering from Rolex (BMW in this analogy) with one really popular product that has been molded in different ways (yes, I know Tudor has multiple lines, but really, it's the Black Bay show)
Mercedes = Cartier - unquestionably luxury, possibly doing it better than its competitor Rolex, but coming just short of having the same level of caché

Here are mine
Mercedes = Rolex
Rolls Royce = JLC
BMW = IWC
Audi = Oris
Bentley = Breguet
Lexus = Grand Seiko
Toyota = Casio / G-Shock
Hyundai = Orient
Ford = Tissot
Cadillac = Breitling
Lexus : Grand Seiko
Toyota : Seiko
Mercedes Nomos German not my favourite but no denying their quality.
Rolls Royce Rolex. Rolex was previously British made and arguably for both brands their golden days are behind them.
BMW Sinn. Both German both providing a wide range of high quality products.
Audi Oris good quality decent range. Many people’s first step from affordable to luxury.
Bentley Tudor. If you can’t get the more expensive alternative go for the slightly cheaper, although arguably the more interesting choice.
Lexus Grand Seiko. Looks great good build quality.
Toyota Casio cheap well made caters to a wide range.
Hyundai Seiko. I know that Hyundai aren’t Japanese but like Seiko they make some good stuff some not so good stuff and are generally affordable.
Ford Timex. Put their cheaper lines against almost any other. It gets a bit tricky when the price rises.
Got no clue about Cadillac.
My watches are all Opels.

Rolex / Mercedes is a perfect match
