Hey guys! I want a quartz gmt that is under 300 and will only be used for traveling. Basically a beater…. just whenever I have a flight. May I get some recommendations? Automatic is also fine if not crazy expensive, but I’m looking for the maximum bang for my buck without buying rubbish. Also, plastic casios are not my style.
Seiko GMT
Seiko GMT
Yep a solid choice, but any chance I can go cheaper? I’m not being cheap, I just want a gmt only for traveling that doesn’t go off by 15 min per day
Not quite a GMT, but would a watch with a world-timer bezel suit your needs?

A world timer would actually be ok, that specific brand doesnt rly fit my taste tho.
But watches with world time bezels are not that rare right?

Just get a Casio World Time. Cheap and a perfect beater. If you want a traditional quartz GMT, I have this one. https://duxotwatches.com/collections/atlantica-gmt/products/atlantica-gmt-dx-2034-11 The bracelet sort of sucks, so I put it on a strap and it's good. There is a cheaper way to get it, so you can message me for that. I would also look at Timex. The one in stock is here: https://www.timex.com/waterbury-traditional-gmt-39mm-sst-stainless-steel-bracelet-watch/Waterbury-Traditional-GMT-39mm-SST-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-Watch.html?dwvar_Waterbury-Traditional-GMT-39mm-SST-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-Watch_color=Stainless-Steel-Two-Tone-Blue&cgid=men-stainless-steel#start=1
The one with a waitlist is here: https://www.timex.com/q-timex-gmt-38mm-stainless-steel-bracelet-watch/Q-Timex-GMT-38mm-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-Watch.html?dwvar_Q-Timex-GMT-38mm-Stainless-Steel-Bracelet-Watch_color=Stainless-Steel-Black&cgid=men-stainless-steel#start=37&sz=36
Cool recommendations! I just realized that I can get a seiko gmt in when I go back to Taiwan for 250$ used (going back for spring break) Thats a steal
Here's a cheap Aviator gmt quartz with a 41mm case that would be a decent daily beater for you. Comes with 2 straps and not much of a gamble at that price point 💪😎.

Thats exactly what I was looking for! Miyota quartz movement that at least has a name! A clean design too!
Do you have one? Good quality?

I've ordered one to put on a nato strap as a work wearing daily...Will post pics when it arrives 👊😁.
I've had a world time Aviator in the past and was reliable except for the silly inner rotating bezel that stopped rotating after a few years (plastic gear teeth chewed up I think 🤔). Was a substantial watch, and after 12yrs of ownership had barely a mark on the case or the crystal 👍

Thanks man! Pls let me know when you’re gonna do this! Perfect recommendation, can’t ask for more!
I’ve got the Phoibos Voyager gmt, which uses the Seiko movement but retails under them. It’s also a bit smaller at 39mm. I got the red version but they sell a few different colours.
As a quartz option I’ve also got the Citizen Promaster gmt.
I think if you don’t get the blacked out pvd coated one it comes under the Seiko and is a true gmt if that’s important.

Hey if you are not getting much wear from the phoibus and its in decent condition, I am willing to buy it from you at the right price. What do you think?
It’s hard to sell Phoibus in the future too because it’s a microbrand watch in a more controversial red color, so it’s also partially beneficial to you! Thanks!

Actually got it on right now. If you really want a red one seriouswatches.com based in Holland are meant to be getting some more in soon. I like my Phoibos and aren’t going to get rid of it just now. Thanks for the offer though.
Mathey-Tissot GMT will come in under $300. I’ve really enjoyed this one. Swapped the bracelet for a AliExpress rubber strap
